We struggled to create chances, which means Robin would have made very little difference had he been there. Just need to add a little creativity (injured players returning or a new signing) and we will be better off than last season.
Already look like a better team overall.

So you're not one of those who thinks Robin is a superman who could create chances out of nothing? You'd put the result just down to a general below-par performance, rather than his absence? I'm trying to remember how Arsenal did just before he was sold; were they starting to slip or were they on a roll? All seems so long ago now.
Isn't it crazy though, in general, how a team can be on fire one week and really bad the next? I mean, even look at City: they struggled against Liverpool, who themselves were totally pants on the opening day of the season. I know you can't always be "on", but the difference often week to week can be startling. At least we don't have that problem: we're always crap! Ah, the relief of not having to live up to expectations, the lack of pressure... the Championship? What? How did we end up here? Oops! (Bent, get on your game asap man...)

Well, Robin is indeed a World Class striker, who dragged is through games last season, but he could only score when the ball was given to him. We have been lacking in the creative department so far, and due to a lack of chemistry between the players it looks worse.
The two strikers we have signed will score once we start giving them opportunities.

I have no doubt of that. Still, it must hurt to see him banging them in for United on his very first game for them. No "Torres syndrome" for him! Who have you signed to replace him?

Robin is probably the best striker in the World so it hurts to see him go, but I wish him well. Did nothing but give his all for us. Not happy the way he published his desire to leave on his personal website, but it is what it is.
We brought in Podolski, who scored 20 goals last season, and has 100 caps for Germany as well as Giroud who was top goalscorer in France and won the title. I think overall we are better off with two very good strikers as opposed to one World Class striker. We will wait and see, and I am looking forward to this coming season! Always want Villa to do well, hope you have a better season than usual (but don;t expect it )

Thanks. Hope it comes good for yourselves, sure it will.
Hell, I'll be happy if we stay up this season: who IS this guy in charge, anyway??? Ah well, can't be worse than McLeish! Seriously, the guy takes Birmingham down and they give him Villa, to do the same? Are they insane, or just Brummy-haters?

Just a reminder to any who are in the MB league to sort out your team before 11:30 on Saturday. That includes me; not going to get caught out again this week!

Yeah, it's because they played tonight and also twice in Gameweek 1.
Reading aren't playing either for the second week in a row. I've already had to use my wildcard due to those factors, injuries and players getting transferred to foreign teams. Also got a 6 carder coupon on for tomorrow. Man City Sunderland Spurs Celtic Partick Thistle Stenhousemuir For £91.50, c'mon! |

Yeah, I noticed Reading weren't playing again. Waterlogged pitch again??
That leaves LeFondre out for me, as well as Terry and Lampard. Right now, just going for the cheapest subs I could is not looking too bright an idea.. (Coleman, Williams and Hughes as replacements... don't see too many points coming out of that substitution!)
