I don't think Italy's problem was the age of the squad, it was the age of the first 11 and pivital areas of it. If you've got Gattuso and Pirlo in the most important area of the field and they don't have the legs.. As well as the centreback not being able to keep up, you're gonna struggle.

England have a nice balance to their squad.
