In normal circumstances, Chile should be footballistically sodomized by the European champions next friday. But in this World Cup all the "normal circumstances" have totally disappeared. Nobody knows what could happen now.

Chile are a good side and I wouldn`t be surprised if Spain for all their talents slipped up on that one. Interesting as Spain, Chile and Switzerland vying for those 2 places, Switzerland should be routine against Honduras but you never know.

Well, its the best squad they have had for a long time i feel. I dont see them getting much further but the way the next round has been drawn, they actually have a winnable fixture against Ghana and therefore a chance of making the quarters. Whereas they dont have as good a squad as we do and were very lucky to get a draw against us, i have to admit that they deserve to top the group and im glad they went through. They have a good chance of progressing further than we do as well, with English fixtures against Germany and then a probable quarter final against Argentina as reward for the winner to come. This is why i was holding out hope for the Aussies and Ghana yesterday and why im still holding onto some hope for Slovakia and New Zealand wins today. Its highly unlikely that this will happen but with the way things have been going, who knows? |
