How dare you beat me to it

I haven't had the chance to watch many matches but i actually got to watch that Portugal vs North Korea match, i know the Koreans sucked balls but Portugal could be contenders if they keep up the form, they were pretty impressive. Kim Yong will be displeased though.

Portugal are always potential contenders but are always let down by weak centre forwards such as Nuno Gomes, Pauleta and Helder Postiga over the years. They`ve had their moments in matches but never the same calibre as the players supporting them.

Hugo Almeida scored a couple today, so if he can continue in this fashion they have a real chance.

I can see Portugal coming unstuck in the quarter finals, or maybe even the semis again myself.

Still, fantastic result for them. Good win for Spain too - that's Group H officially blown wide open.

Portugal are your typical QF`s team anyway, have all the talent but lack the temperment to go the whole way.

Spain finally into gear, played some great football despite lacking the killer touch at certain times and Torres looked off colour but didn`t matter as Villa shone, huge match against Chile now while Switzerland have the far easier match against Honduras.

I think there's actually a very real chance of Spain getting knocked out next week. Chile easily have what it takes to punish their lack of a killer touch in front of goal, and are well capable of at least holding them to a draw, while the Swiss have an easy ride to another 3 points against Honduras.

Along with Germany's group, not to mention ours, it's the most open-ended (and, therefore, exciting) by a long shot.

Pretty crap WC for the African teams though, plenty of physical stuff and approach, but a real shortage of skill where it matters, not to mention their normal trend of hiring coaches just a couple of months before the finals.

You could roll up the big 4 African sides: Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast and take the best players out of each, form one team and you`d still get the same ineffective game out of them.

South Africa and Algeria are just not good enough full stop unless of course they`re playing against England!!!
