England were absolutely pathetic - worst performance I've seen from them in years. Rooney and Gerrard were awful, but they weren't the only ones constantly giving the ball away and showing a total lack of class and international quality.

On the other hand, I think there's consolation in the fact that we aren't the only ones struggling. Spain, Germany and France are other teams that should have walked through this phase on paper, but their chances of doing so are gonna go right down to the last game of the group phase. Plus, taking a step back and looking at the result for what it is, we're still unbeaten and still have the tournament well in our hands. All we have to do is beat a Slovenian side that we beat in a friendly not so long ago, and with basically this same team too.

Yes, it was an utterly dire performance, but I refuse to get pessimistic until it's all genuinely over.
