Personally I think the vuvuzelas are about as much part of the matchday experience and therefore as annoying as all the chanting and singing you'll hear week in, week out at Premier League matches; ie not very. I really don't see how it hinders any spectator's concentration on the game any more anyway. I really hope they don't get banned by the powers that be, as it'd really do a lot of damage to what's so far been a tournament hosted in terrific spirit and enthusiasm.
I just hope the football itself picks up in the very near future and takes the focus off all that off-pitch stuff. It's early days yet, but I'm still waiting to see the first unforgettable classic of this world cup, let alone the first potential goal of the tournament. I mean, I fell asleep twice during the Japan-Cameroon game today. |
