Some people in the Italian community here are looting and vandalizing and whatnot. It's upsetting that Italy is out of the tournament, I know, but it's not necessary to ruin everyone else's day either.

Italy really only had a older players like Buffon, Gattuso and especially Cannavaro who was well past it at this WC. The problem was really in attacking areas, where they really didn`t have players of the Del Piero or Totti calibre.

Its still a surprise to see them go, as they were certainly quarter final stage material and mirrored England`s perfomances in the first two matches as well, they just came unstuck against an insipred Slovakia side and had what looked like a goal disallowed as well, it the match were played again with the same players I`m sure italy would win.

They did that when Mussolini was hung as well.....but with joy in their hearts.
