There's no doom and gloom, I just hate the whole we're gonna win it! attitude after a decent result. After all, we were in crisis and we were all shit and France-like, now football's coming home.. I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground. |

Besides, where's the fun of world cup fever if you can't swept away by the euphoria eh ![]() I do still seriously fancy our chances of beating Germany though, if it even comes to that. |

Germany and Argentina.. Jesus Wept. If this year is our year, no one can say we don't deserve it. We faced turmoil, divide in the camp, and 2 of the biggest footballing nations. I'm keeping hopeful but I'm not getting caught up in it. Great result, best performance as of yet. We just need to get better. |

To put it simply, I have high hopes of at least getting to the quarters. |

Upson despite being shown up for his lack of pace did really well. It was a solid performance. Goal and then shut up shop, we'll have to see more of that if we're going to progress. |

My favourites of all time? Ruud or Beckham.
Of recent times - C.Ronaldo. I saw his debut and I said "he's gonna be special." and I watched him in the flesh through out the glory years of becoming what he is today. Zidane or Ronaldinho are probably the best though. |

It would be great next match if England got Ghana as I can see only one winner there. Serbia a different kettle of fish and very technical but showed against Germany that they can get results as well, thanks to Vidic in defence. England v Germany THE MATCH could go either way.......Lets hope the yanks get drawn against them ![]() |

Which demonstrates the difference between the English and German footballing cultures, with Sven-era England not bothering to build on that performance and Germany going back to square one and rebuilding completely to overtake England. Which mentality works better?
