So Uruguay and Mexico from Group A qualify for the round of 16. South Africa beat France 2-1 but go out with them on goal difference.

Im over the moon that France are out. Ive already shared my opinions on the attitude of the French squad during this tournament and they just completely self destructed because of it. I was hoping that Uruguay and South Africa would improve on their goal difference today as i think its a shame they have gone out. As ive already said, i think they have been great hosts and have given it a real shot too. I think 4 points from the group stages still makes a successful campaign for them but what a way to finish it - Domenech refusing to shake Parreira's hand after the match! Pathetic.

Bastards jostled Eric!

Now the tournament should come alive with everything to lose.
And that's what England have been missing.
Hopefully they'll concentrate on winning rather than avoiding defeat.

I predict a convincing performance tomorrow night.

I get to go home from work early to watch it! Yaaaaaaay. I expect a performance, and not wishing I was sat at a desk instead. If they show fear I'm going to be most pissed off. Come on Murray if England get knocked out.

We're all allowed out of work early for the match.
There's a pub down the road with a huge beer garden and two big widescreens.
World Cup Al Fresco!

Sun, Stella and Soccer.

Good job Domenech's well and truly on his way out now.

Probably the best performance of the tournament from the South Africans, and they really should've got 3 or 4. Just a shame that characteristic lapse in defence cost them a goal in the end though.

As for the French, pathetic. Not that I expected more to be honest.

Fantastic weather, food and football.

We have to adjust it so we can call it football. there's nothing like a burger and a pint just before football.

Im not arsed about the burger but the pints will flow tomorrow. Hopefully the weather stays the same so i can enjoy a nice beer garden before and after the game.
