England > Italy > France.

My country is the best of the flops.

I say fair play to the french.

Knocked out the Irish by cheating and then couldn't even be bothered when they did turn up.
I don't think I could stomach loads of plastic paddys going on about how great Ireland are because they shitted out a bore draw against some moderately good European side like they seem to do at every tournament.

Cheers French players

Even if England were still in I would still say that it's been a boring world cup and one of the worst I have seen. It seems to have lost it's appeal in these days of huge money. shame.

I think referees more than ever are ruining world cups with silly decisions, I know this is nothing new, but this world cup has been highlighted by it, none more so than the England v Germany and Argentina v Mexico games. Both matches were shaping up to be potential classics before some ridiculous decisons were made and killed off the matches.

We`ve had very few great matches only Italy v Slovakia comes to mind

This story is breaking all over the place, obviously not on any major credible news sites...

I guess time will tell if it's true or not.
If it is it would definitely explain England's woeful performance in South Africa

Allegedly Courts held a further 2 week gagging order on Steve gerrards private life, turns out he got his wife’s Sister pregnant (not a 16 year old ) Will hit the newspaper in 14 days, the judge held the gagging order to protect FA while they decide on capello, and the future of English footy.. John terry and the England boys all know about it and JT had a argument with capello because gerrard got to keep the captains armband. The tension in the camp was down to JT and half the team saying gerrard was a disgrace and the other half of the squad backing gerrard..The press conference was related to the tension and JT wanted Gerrard exposed - they hate each other..

^ The plot thickens!

I won't believe it 'til I see a good source report it either (although that could just be a matter of time) but, yeah, it'd explain a lot to say the least.

I agree with the bolded bit, but I can think of USA-Slovenia, Italy-New Zealand, Switzerland-Spain and Denmark-Cameroon off the top of my head which have been great to watch as a neutral besides the Slovakia game. Some potential classics like Brazil-Portugal and Portugal-Spain were disappointing, and so far as a whole the tournament hasn't been as entertaining as Euro 2008, but at the same time nowhere near as dire as world cup 2006. I've still got high hopes for a good end to the tournament too.

I heard about that Gerrard + 16 year old before the end of the season was finished, I thought it was dead and buried. Rio Ferdinand is a druggy. Rooney shags grannies. JT and Ashley Cole are love rats, Gerrard is a love rat and a slight paedophile.

So whoever gets the armband, JT wouldn't be happy. None of them are squeaky clean

I heard about Gerrard in early April. It's been common knowledge in the north west. Not the bit about being his wife's sister though.
I can imagine Terry's annoyance at the double standards.

Another explanation/excuse I heard was about England's pre world cup altitude training.
According to a leading doctor the altitude training is only good for game's at altitude.
And when playing at sea level the blood thickens.

BBC News - Today - Was 'sludgy blood' responsible for England exit?
