Far where is vegeangelica when you need her. Wait...she's vegetarian. Dammit!
Well...I learned to hook my bait and cast it. I was too emotional to catch fish after my phone died, however.

I'm pretty inexperienced cause Ohio doesn't afford many fishing opportunities, but I was able to do a bit of fishing over the summer at a trip to Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee and it was pretty sweet. We did some top water fishing which was hella fun, and some trolling I think it's called, which is kinda passive. The lake's got both large mouth and small mouth fish too and I'm hoping to do it again sometime.
Oh and I don't have a set up either lol. Just rentals. Impatience? |

I think it must be pretty rewarding catching a fish. And the peace and serenity of gliding along a watery abyss while casting a line.

You nailed it. It's impossible for me to get frustrated with fishing (pretty much the only activity that I won't get frustrated with at some point) because even when I'm not catching anything I'm just enjoying the peace and beauty of being out in a lake.

On another note, we have these beasts here called Jewfish (Goliath Grouper) which grow to be hundreds of pounds. I have always thought they were endangered, but word is they are going to be open for season next month. I've located a pretty sweet spot where there are a few of them chillin in extremely shallow water under a pier and have plotted my attack as soon as season opens. I've been catching ladyfish off shrimp then loosely hooking the lady fish and feeding the jewfish. I've had the largest come up and break the surface a few times, and even reached out and touched that guy. It would be a dream to fill my freezer with 200+ pounds of grouper. |
