I love that you can just go to London for the weekend. I am so jealous. I can't go anywhere interesting just for the weekend!

edit: Ah right, the snowy picture :D? Yes indeed that is Scotland on a snowy day! :D |
|
Been travelling the country for a few weeks now, back in FL now after almost 4 years. Its pretty awesome, still like the old days for the most part. Still got my dealers, my sluts, my buddies, my family, and parties out the ass. Good fucking times.
|
I'll be heading to Ohio to meet up with my sister and cousin for a day or two.. and then all of us are gonna drive down to Florida for the week! :D Shall be awesome
|
This July I'll be heading to Austria for ten days for a graduation present. I'll be hitting Vienna, Salzburg, and the oft-ignored Graz. In addition to the main cities I'm planning to explore the Salzkammergut. This region is frequently cited as being one of the most beautiful areas in Europe, and it's chock full of mountains, castles, lakes, and valleys, as well as being known as the backdrop of The Sound of Music. Hopefully I'll be able to see Hallstatt, or at least Bad Ischel. Anyone have any suggestions on Austria?
|
In the next year I'll be going to Seattle in late May, Vegas in August, moving to Seattle January 2011, and going to Costa Rica February after.
Last time I was in Seattle I mostly just did everyday things, but I'd like to do some touristy stuff this time around... Any suggestions? I'd like to catch a game at Safeco if it works out, hit up Pike's Place again, and I want to grab a 12-egg omelet from Beth's Cafe after seeing it repeatedly on the Travel Channel... That's just the tip of the iceberg. Are there any cool music or arts museums? Really excited about Costa Rica as well. It will, by my standards, be my first time out of the country (I don't count my 3 hours in Tijuana...). |
I'm going camping tomorrow. NO BATHING FOR 3 DAYS!!:thumb:

just got back from austin
sorry, meant for that to be longer.....it was pretty cool. i like the feel of that place |
This is what I did over my summer (which is well and truly gone now!)... I love traveling.
|
Two months to go until my trip. Starting off travelling through eastern turkey, then into syria, lebanon, jordan, israel, and finishing off in egypt. Whole trip will be about five months in total, I really can't wait.
|
im really jealous. Where abouts are you in turkey are you currently :)? I really really want to travel and im contemplating going over to france this summer to do a bit of work :)
|
I live in Istanbul at the moment, I've been here since september. I love it over here, and I'm gonna come back here after travelling for another year and a bit.
|
I've only stopped over in Istanbul a few times, for an overnight once too. All in all I've been to turkey 13 times, 14 once I come back from my holidays in july :D:D How are you finding staying abroad? did you get accomodation/job easily? Sorry for the interogation but I plan on moving abroad soooon :D
ps do you have a degree or what that'd help you get a job and such :)? or did you do it like im doing, finding a random job haha. |
totally random. I came to turkey for a month long backpacking trip last may, and just fell into a bartending job for the summer in a little resort town on the mediterranean coast. After the summer I moved in with a friend of mine who i'd met a few months earlier who was already in Istanbul and she took me to her boss and I got a job teaching english right away. It was super easy getting set up with a job and apartment, slightly more difficult getting used to living in a MASSIVE city, but I really love it here now. Now I just need to work on my Turkish, haha.
|
I'm so jealous you lucky beggar, I'm worried incase I go somewhere, find a good apartment/job, but not a decent job/apartment if you get me. A job teaching english would be perfect, but I assume I'd never some sort of qualification for that :(
|
Depends where you go. Over here if you're a native english speaker that's really all you need. I had no training, no experience, and only and online TEFL course (which is completely useless for all practical purposes but helps on the resume). In places like Japan and Korea you need a degree and some kind of esl training course (TEFL, CELTA, TEOSL etc.) You can get an online certification or do an actual classroom course (which would probably be much more helpful), but for the most part, if you're a native english speaker and you've been to uni, you can usually get yourself sorted with a job pretty easily.
|
I'm from Scotland, I'm hoping to go over to france for a few months after my holiday, I'm 18 and never been to uni before, and I have no idea about housing markets, so much going against me but I'm determined to do it! :( I may extend my holiday to Turkey this year haha if being an english speaker is all you really need! :)
|
I was born in Italy, so I like going back there during the summer. Havent made it for 4 years though :(
Otherwise my favourite holiday places are Santorini Island in Greece and Provence in France. I'd love to go to London though :) |

You should go, its lovely. During the summer go by the coast, and in the winter head for somewhere like Milan. Its absolutely beautiful :) |

Also... that is very weird because my dad is italian and my mum is originally from New Zealand, too! Odd! Parli italiano? |
Quote:
Certo. E te? |
Quote:
Si, anche io! Ma il mio italiano non é molto buono... hehe. |

Vivevo in Italia per 6 anni allora lo posso parlare, però mi sono dimenticata tantissimo :( Lo capisco tutto, ma è difficile parlarlo. |
I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. I want a hotel on the water out there. I want to see the sun set and want to have a breakfast in the water.

Vacations
I like your post. it is very nice topic to discuss. I like to go Jammu & Kashmir in India. It is wonderful hill station in India to visit. Jammu and Kashmir is very popular since the ancient time which became an important center of Hinduism and later of Buddhism. The area most frequented by foreign climbers is the Nun-Kun massif in the Great Himalayan Range.A range of soft trekking options is available in the Jammu area. I like to do trekking.

Just got back from Shawano, Wisconsin for a go-kart race(which I did well in). I have a very mixed opinion about it.

In a few days I am going to the Lake District for a week where I plan on going many places and also taking the opportunity to relax a little before i start work when i get back. This is pretty much the perfect place for that.
