I'm leaving that grouped so you can see what you wrote. I have played fairly competitive (subjective) team sports, and in fact was raised on them. Basketball, Soccer, I've played in Adult Co-ed Leagues (since you asked about Ultimate Frisbee) in both Dodgeball and Kickball in WAKA (i'm sure you've seen those leagues, their nationwide). In the latter, I played on two teams that have clinched a division title. You can follow our success at each of the following blog links...

The Munt and Flip

and for last summer (The) Green Team!

I'll go on to point out that I've never gone on the record as saying these sports aren't challenging, their just in no way as challenging as endurance sports, and most specifically mountain biking. To further my point, I've swam in open waters with 200 other people in my heat and was slapped, punched, kicked and crawled over while attempting to marry speed with going in the right direction.

I've run with the flu, I've been unable to drive after rock climbing, and I have to pull my brother out of rocks once while kyacking. I'm not bragging, i'm saying when **** happens in endurance sports - you sink or swim. Theres no options otherwise. Challenges occur everywhere, and I'm not going to take the time to figure out if getting out of bed in the morning is worse than first level trigonometry, but in athletics nothing is more demanding than the endurance sports.

Well good luck with it, I hope those tendons don't give you any drama.

I love how this thread took a serious turn with "Bro Namath, have you ever played ultimate frizz?"

Good luck in the 5K- should be cake if you've run 8 miles. My recommendation is to take out any Kenyans with a swift kick within the first 100 feet, it's your only hope.

lol, fair play. I remember when a kenyan finished the half marathon I was in. I was running with a back at mile 8 and some idiot on a cell phone is yelling to us "guys, GUYS, someone just won"

and the girl next to me looked at me like "if you drown him, I won't say a word."

I love running; I ran cross country and track in high school. After that, I stopped shortly but I was doing about 5 miles every day for a long time there. I run about half the time with an iPod, if I'm having any sort of problem or if I've been very busy I run without music because thinking while running is great. Still have a month to go before I can start running again .

I'm well aware that I asked the same question twice. Have you played organized tackle football?

Are you talking about a purely physical challenge?

Football is the most physically challenging sport I've ever played, but the only endurance sport I've done is cross country. Would you say swimming and rock climbing are greater challenges?

I'm sorry I just threw up in my mouth.

Those soccer guys wouldn't last 3 downs in a seriously competitive American Football game. Not saying they aren't athletic, they just would get some sense knocked into them. What soccer players know as a 'red card' play, we call a great hit.

Agreed that soccer is a pretty soft sport IMO.

But Australian football FTW!

Australian Football looks pretty cool. I can't say I've ever heard anything like it.

Nothing compares to this. Lets see any soccer player take one of these hits.
