The news said they did'nt know if he was absent or not when the fights took place. All they knew was that there was dead or wounded dogs and a fighting pit on his property.

Did he ever actually get convicted on the dog fighting charges? His stint in jail was for participating in illegal interstate commerce. That said, he deserves to return. It's not the NFL's business, he served his time and dealt with the legal aspects.
