im not sure what trot racing is but im talking about the one where they actually have the carts behind the horse and sit on the cart, not where your actually on the horse.

Actually I grew up around Harness racing, and my dad still owns like 4 races.
"Trot" racing is just a different type of gallop. In harness there are "trotters" and "pacers." Trotters tend to run quite a bit slower, and they have a MUCH higher potential to "break" off stride. There are no harness tracks out in Oregon where I just moved, which is kind of a bummer...my son loved to go watch "the horseys." |
