I just started learning to snowboard this season, and picked it up pretty quickly, although some of my skills seem to be built on somewhat fragile foundation, hopefully practice will help me out.
I'm definitely going to continue in the future, I had such a great time. One of the things I liked about it in comparison to skating is that there's less focus on technicality, which takes the frustration out of it. |

I haven't been for ages but I love it. Nothing like it. I'm at Uni now and not really near a Snodome/Excape. Normally go to Germany or Austria but am a poor student!
Have taken to mountainboarding as you don't need snow for that - pretty dam good fun, steers a different way though which resulted in falling off a lot to start with. Anyone tried it? |

Since the last post my skills have excelled bought my own board. Been snowboarding up north on the mountains. I'm too much of a pussy to try off piste to be honest, but on piste was fun fun fun unfortunately I haven't used my board outside, I bought it 4 days before I went up north. But it didn't arrive on time. So I took my brothers which is a 157/158cm, board. Mines is a Salomon 160cm
edit: Ha, a little bit of Music Banter in the corner!

Bump! Is snowboarding hard? I'm going to New Zealand this winter and I'm hoping to do some snowboarding! I've never been snowboarding of skiiing before. I'm thinking of taking a 50 minute lesson first and then just messing around on the slopes but I'm worried I'm gonna make a fool out of myself. how hard is it?
