Superbowl 2009

Who is going to win?

Kirby 01-28-2009 09:16 PM

I want the steelers to win, but the Cardinals will pull an upset.

lucifer_sam 01-29-2009 06:49 PM

Not a chance. The Steelers defense is the best it's been since the mid-seventies. And everyone that keeps talking about Fitzgerald needs to wait until the game plays out before they make these grand predictions. Warner hasn't faced a d-line like the Steelers yet this season, we'll see how he fares against it.

kthedrummer 01-30-2009 06:21 AM

The Steelers will win by at least 13 points.

capwack 01-30-2009 10:54 AM

Steelers.

dac 02-01-2009 08:21 PM

That game was bullshit. The refs blew that one for the Cardinals. Wouldn't be a conversation though if Kurt Warner doesn't throw that pick at the half...

ProggyMan 02-01-2009 09:26 PM

Yeh, first off that wasn't a TD a the end of the half, did they even watch the ****ing replay, second of all that was a ****ing fumble at the end. Plus they misassesed that personal on the Steeler's second half FG, it should have been tacked on to the kickoff.

Don't forget the bailout of a call on that roughing the passer where the defender actually PULLED UP to avoid more serious contact.

TheBig3 02-01-2009 10:13 PM

All I know is I managed to pull out a $200 upset in the office pool squares.

Suck on that one you nerd jocks. I don't even know wtf what counts for what amount of points in that god damned sport.

Also, the Boss was on fire.

They called too much holding, if you broke down tape you could find it on just about every play, just let the game go on.

lucifer_sam 02-01-2009 10:27 PM

You're telling me. The hold near the end of the fourth that resulted in a safety was utter crap.

Still, two fantastic catches by two fantastic receivers. Santonio deserved that MVP for sure, and it's about damn time that someone talked about him.

#6 and counting. Bring it on bitches.

God I hate the steelers, they always seem to play dirty. Not cool dirty, just asshole dirty.

Did you see Harrison just being a dick to Ferguson after the punt? Yikes. Enjoyable game to watch overall though, exciting to the end.

The Harrison run was a touchdown and the fumble at the end was ruled a fumble. And the penalty was accessed correctly according to Rich Eisen on the NFL network.

Not at any point of that game did I feel the referees made a mistake that effected the outcome even slightly.

dac 02-02-2009 08:33 AM

Harrison should have been ejected. Period. That was so classless.

Double X 02-02-2009 09:43 AM

Didn't he actually punch Francisco?

Being a hard hitting team doesn't make us a dirty one. There was one hit during the entire season that the Steelers made that was dirty (the Clark layout on Wes Welker in week 7). The NFL takes allowances to persecute teams that execute well because they baby marquee players. We've had our share of shit thrown at us as well -- look at Roethlisberger's concussion in week 17.

If you're going to whine about the outcome of the game, pick a different sport to watch.

Double X 02-02-2009 02:36 PM

Chill out, I didn't really care about the outcome of the game.

anticipation 02-02-2009 02:56 PM

it's a great opportunity to make fun of the idiots i know who bet on the cardinals.

If you bet on the Cardinals you won! Unless you took the moneyline or a teaser.

See above.

Just because he works for the NFL Network doesn't mean he's right.

Ok...

Son of JayJamJah 02-03-2009 07:13 PM

The fact that you don't think the Harrison run was a touchdown makes me seriously question how objective you're being. I've not heard one non-Cardinals fan or Phoenix media member suggest it was even close to being short. I didn't even see a reply that showed his knee hit the ground short of the end zone.

YouTube - James Harrison 100 Yard INT TD

a look at this clearly shows that even if he was down on the initial hit and not on Fitzgerald's leg as another angle shows, the ball still appears to break the plane and therefore it's a touchdown.

Any argument is just silly.

WWWP 02-04-2009 12:09 PM

I couldn't have cared less about the outcome of the game, but I won $12 so I was happy.

phantom133pz 02-04-2009 02:13 PM

I'm definitely a Steelers fan; they're my favorite team after local Skins (who suck :(). But there was definitely some dirty playing going on. Did anyone else see the play where someone on the Steelers (I can't remember who, maybe Holmes?) pushed one of the Cardinals on the ground and held him down the whole time? There were some bad calls too... Hitting the quarterback on that one play??? It was maybe a half second after Ben threw the ball.

Classy.

Anyone who doesn't think he should have been ejected for this is a retard Steelers fan.

crash_override 02-22-2009 09:08 PM

Go Chiefs!

ngob 03-03-2009 06:32 PM

Re: Chiefs

You have to be happy about the Cassel trade.
Wait, you're from SD. You're cheering for the wrong team.

I know it's almost 2 months now. But Harrison was a dicknose that game. It also made me appreciate how good Rotherlisberger (sp) was, he is impossible to sack.
