People, if you want to tone up your stomachs, use a swiss ball as it's over 40% more effective than doing crunches alone. That's because you have to control the ball and your body from moving at the same time. I use them at the gym!

after a major illness and then, a serious injury, combined with canadian winters and middle age laziness, i got pretty fat. i went back to the gym last august, and it is really making a difference. i'm no body builder but i am making progress and i don't look like i used to.

If you can do 205 six times you can definitely max more than 215...how tall are you? It's pretty good for a 170 pound person, though.

i'm 6'3 and 173 pounds.

Yeah, i never maxed out yet but i could handle that 205 pounds quite easily at least for the first 3 reps, then it got pretty tough. If i can do 230 once, would that be respectable?

The fact you're in there is respectable enough, but yeah that's good. I feel your pain being 6'5, it's tougher for tall guys to put in the same weight that shorter guys with short legs can do.

But that's real good, just maintain your form cause the more weight you'll be putting up, especially with squats, can **** up your back in a heartbeat.

how important is the amount of food you eat when trying to gain muscle mass?

Eating is probably more important than the actual lifting you do.

Thats the truth man. Ive got a super fast metabolism and have a real hard time gaining weight. But Ive been taking PVL's Mutant Mass. Each serving has about 80-90 grams of protein and just under 1000 calories. Take those first thing in the morning and post workout with creatine. Ive put on a fair bit of size with it.
