![]() I hope I keep this up and can eventually get to a half marathon and hopefully one day even a marathon. They’ve been dreams for a long time but I have never done much to work towards them until now. Quote:
I get you may not be prepared for one right now and want to build yourself back up a bit first but one thing I wish I had known earlier is how acceptable it is to stop during the race! Had I known that I would have booked some 5km’s or fun runs years ago. It’s a great achievement just getting out there and trying to be honest Lisna, the hard work is motivating yourself during your day to day life. Regardless of it being intervals or a continuous run ![]()

@FETCHER: I hope you are doing some jogging and that your knee feels ok now. After our chat here, I was actually obligated to try again: first bit of running since lockdown hit us here back in March 2020. I managed about a third of a mile, then a walking break, then another third, so not breaking any records yet.
A circuit of my small local park is a third of a mile, and on my first circuit I was already thinking about the pain threshold: some people say you have to work through it, but I subscribe to the more comfortable notion that you should pay attention when your body is telling you to stop. What's your policy? After all, I think you were giving out proper training advice when you worked in the gym; were you shouting, "Suck it up,you wimp", or did you have a more sympathetic approach? ![]()

Had this thought at the gym today: gym bros are the most autistic guys of all. Why is it, then, that the stereotype of autism doesn't include them? Probably because of ableism, that's why! They're too darn healthy for us to think of them that way.

agree. All this sounds like a solid routine. It's good to hear you're taking care of your kidneys and liver while using supplements. Milk thistle and cranberry juice are great choices for maintaining organ health. Tons of water and peppermint tea will definitely help too. I've been working out at fit4less , and it’s a great place with affordable memberships. Keep up the good work!

Yes, but as long as you start out slowly and build up from there, you’ll be fine. Years ago I ran in a couple of 10k races and some less lengthy ones and had a great time. I’m recovering from a foot injury right now but look forward to getting back into running as soon as I can.

My workout today was a mix of strength training and a quick cardio session—felt amazing afterward! To keep my energy up, I’ve been taking some supplements, and Canadian Pharmacy has been a great source for affordable vitamins and joint support products. It’s really helped with recovery and staying consistent with my routine.
