Men will quickly reject Yoga but when you do it regularly then it gives you flexibility and and inner core strenght. You can go straight into it without any equipment except some makeshift stuff.I had a back surgery and a micro discectomy in the mid 80's as spine is certainly not as good as it should be. First disk issue at 15 years old so not a new thing for sure. Yoga gives you the answer to enable to do more strenuous exercise, Although I was an athlete, I never can run now as the pounding actions are bad for the spine....
always do stretching for a warm up whatever your keep-fit choices... leave a video as much better to see how....there are loads of others that might appeal more mof course but this one seems ok to me......

I heard that pistol squats are also pretty hardcore but I'm too inflexible and have too little balance to do those.
Bulgarian, weighted and unweighted.

I barbell squat also but with light weight and for high reps.

Pistols are the ultimate but I can't do those

I may do some squats with my curl bar today when I lift.

I have been just lifting it above my head as many times as my body can do.

Get some squat stands mate. They aren't too expensive and they will be safer.

How much weight do you have?

@Grindy what sort of things are you doing with your bands? Do you have a list or site or anything?

I just have a curl bar, with some weights plus two curl weights for biceps.

I take the curl bar and just lift over my head

130lbs of weight plates for the curl bar

Plus a 24 pound kettlebell that I don't use much

I get what you mean because I did some squats with it last night and almost fell forward. That would have rattled the building lol

I use single arm 14" bars with about 30 lbs on each for squats sometimes. Grab one in each hand and rest them at your sides while doing squats and also lunges. Low weights and high reps works for my needs.
