do girly knee push-ups

or just buy some dumbbells and only work on your upper body

Lifting weights does basically nothing against gaining fat.

Try a more ab centric workout. Crunches and stuff like that.

Are you talking about muscle gain from workingout?

Yes. I have this little quirk where I call muscle fat.

Ok. What you're saying is wrong then. Exerting yourself will burn fat. Lifting weights is Exerting yourself and will burn fat. The reason people seem to not lose weight when lifting has more to do with the fact that muscle weighs more then fat and you put on muscle when you lift.

Surely you realize that weight lifting is an immensely ineffective way to lose fat, right?

Like any workout, when done properly, it works well.

But also quite horribly if losing weight (or cutting fat, don't bring up that muscle weighs more factoid) is your endgame.

I would definitely not suggest trying to bike with one leg or starting a weightlifting regimen if that's not something you already have experience with. If it is bearable, just walking around on crutches will still burn a ton of calories, also getting in some upper body cardio work would be ideal. I doubt you have access to an arm bike, but something like shadowboxing is simple, effective and requires no equipment.
