I've lost two pounds since i've started working out. Which isn't bad considering i've been working out for a little over two weeks. Hot yoga has done wonders on my body, i'm sore, but in a good way. Also decided that on the weekends i'll do 20 to 30 minutes on a treadmill, just to make sure i'm not being lazy on the weekends. Feeling good, and getting fit.

Do you guys have 'Metafit' classes over there? They are fairly new here. Anyway, my abs were so sore the next morning I couldn't sit up to get out my bed and I had to roll out haha.

Protein powders aren't a steroid though, they're a food source. No, protein powder is not necessary for any fitness goal. If your goal is to build muscle then you will require a set amount of protein intake per day, all protein powder does is help you to reach that target but it can be done easily enough without it. |

Literally couldn't have answered that better myself. What do I call you? Kitteh haha. Anyway, as kitty said you don't need protein powders, they're only to help if you find it hard to eat foods rich in protein (like a vegetarian for example, because they cannot eat meat). If you snack on little things like various types of nuts you might not even need to change your diet much at all

First off, don't even consider steroids. They lead to heart problems and the majority of their users suffer from increased blood pressure to the heart which causes heart attacks and premature deaths not to mention a ton of other side effects including skin problems such as acne and sagging, mood swings, a lack of concentration and erectile dysfunction. Protein is what it says on the tin. Don't be fooled by what the gym buffs and sports companies will tell you, there's nothing you can get from packaged protein that you can't get from a balanced diet. If it's weight you're trying to put on, just eat regularly and try to consume foods with high amounts of protein, so any type of meat or animal based product should see you on your way. I don't believe in shelling out £30 for protein that's only going to last a fortnight if you stick to the 'recommended usage' and consuming it on it's own sure as hell won't do you any good. Just work out and eat well and you'll start seeing results if you stick to it. |
