It's the other way around for me. Strong upper body, weak lower.

Ran the Tough Mudder recently. I'd been training for it for a couple months. It was a really good experience. Definitely the hardest thing I've ever done physically.
I've pretty much stopped running since it's been over, and have been concentrating on lifting, trying to put some bulk on. I bought some creatine and have been taking it for about a week. I'll post an update if it works as advertised. Here's the before and after of the race. |

EDIT - £46 Impact Whey Protein from Myprotein I don't think you need any pre-workout supplements i.e. energy drinks, that sort of thing. All I use is Creapure and whey protein. Then some green tea before I train. A strong coffee will do as well but using creatine I prefer not to consume too much caffeine as it's a diuretic and I've seen conflicting opinions as to whether it negates the effects of creatine. |

My upper body still leaves much to be desired. I can do push-ups and what-have-you, but my legs are much stronger. I can leg press upwards of 350 lbs with several reps no problem, but my bench press is pitiful. We're talking five reps with 70 lbs pitiful.
When Christmas is over, I'm getting a personal trainer.

Because she wants specific exercises to build her upper body strength as through all her efforts she still feels she could use some professional advice?
Also, lost two dress sizes, feel great about myself, this is probably the healthiest I've ever been.

I'm studying sports and fitness (albeit at a relatively low level) and I've learned the Internet is very useful but like everything misses out a good portion of information and people disregard information provided or end up thinking they are some sort of gym wizard, whereas a PT will use these techniques and you won't know any difference.
And to assume PTs are clueless is ridiculously ignorant
