What kinda meals do you eat? Examples please.

can of tuna - 150 calories
8 oz milk - 120 calories
2 pieces of bread for tuna - 200 calories

Thats ~470 calories

You can make your own shake which will cover a meal by itself. If you choose to buy protein powder just follow this:

-banana
-2 tbsps peanut butter
-8 oz milk
-2 scoops protein powder

Thats 600 calories alone, and can be done in 5 minutes.

Actually there is (not trying to spread the fear) but google the China Study.
I glanced over it and it seems to have merit, but is way too extreme for me to bother ever living by it. Not drinking milk? Eating beef?

china study criticism was also one of the top results. I will read more on it though.

I never use the stringy things, just do pull ups. Do you think pulling the strings (lol) would be good for building muscle
Buy some plate loading dumbbells is my suggestion. I bet they'd be cheap on craigs list or something.

All you really need is a wall and 2 chairs from your house. Pushups, Tricept lifs, Squats, Wall Sits, and situps. Wallah your entire body.

what about sexy abs? Do I just do a lot of crunches?

Lay flat on the ground and do leg lifts. Also throw in regular situps and crunchs. If they get easy after tie you can just hold a weight or something heavy to add resistance. it has worked quite well for me when I dont have access or money for a gym. Abs are hard though (pun intended) because you can workout for ever but if your diet sucks you wont have good abs.

Again, it's better to hold weights while doing the crunches rather then just doing 300 crunches, but if you don't have them it's better than nothing.

This is how it works though. You go through a bulking and cutting cycle in weight lifting. Bulking is where you eat a lot (the part I'm showing you how to do now) to gain weight (and muscle in the process). After you've reached a point that you're happy with, you cut the excess fat you gained while bulking up (it's impossible to bulk without gaining SOME fat). So you want to do this bulk for a while until you think you're ready and then, you cut. At the end of the bulk your abs will probably be hidden by fat, but after you cut for long enough that the fat from your midsection is gone, your abs will appear. Clear enough?

Oh and cutting basically means losing weight, so you will be eating less calories then you burn in a day.

Clear, and I appreciate the info.

Don't think I'm cut out for all this weight gaining though. Ill probably just buy a cool shirt or some sunglasses or something to temporarily feel good about my looks.

It can be a pain in the ass, but I think it's worth it when you see results. On the other hand, you could just keep doing what you're doing and you'll see probably a little bit of improvement. Better than nothing.

Again I would just do pushups and situps everyday. Its hardly working out but it will make you much stronger and more confident in yourself. Takes only maybe 20 minutes a day or less.

That is NOT even close to being enough to get fresh fruits and **** like that. It really sucks that it works like that. People say yea foods cheap but to eat stuff your body likes is absolutely not. Anyone who dissagree is in lala land.

You could beat it by buying in total bulk but that requires what is essentially a down payment on food.

Eh? Healthy food can be cheap. Yeah, not all healthy food is equally cheap, and obviously some which are not grown in our climate, or are out of season, will be more expensive... but you can still eat plenty of veggies and fruit for very little.

I recognize anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but I can apples for 1.25/pound or $5.~~ for the little baggies, canned pineapple in its own juice for around $2/16oz, raisins dirt cheap, etc. Salad is cheap, too - a bag of Dole salad is, what, $3? Maybe $4?

Another cheap way to get fruit & veg is to hit up salad bars. Many of them are all you can eat, and if you commit yourself to not loading up on croutons, eggs, cheese, and dressing, you can eat a few plate/bowls full before getting full.

If I can get this **** in Montana, it would stand to reason you folks in larger cities in warmer climes should be able to as well.
