Are we a homer or what? I don't see how else people pick Ore and Cal year after year to do sht.
UCLA and Stanford improving will do about what Iowa St and Baylor improving will do to help the image of the Big XII, not much.

Oregon would have been in the NC a few years ago if Dixon hadn't gotten hurt, Cal has the most talent they've had since 04-05, UCLA and Stanford will both be bowl teams, that's the difference between them and the Big XII's bottom lowliest.

Would have been a few years ago except... I see three things wrong there.
Stanford won 5 games last year, UCLA won 4.
Big XII had seven teams with atleast 8 wins.
Pac 10 doesn't even kind of compare. So no, USC would not leapfrog Texas if they both finished with the same record.

I would like Tebow to go away.

And they'll both be much improved.

I'd say that while the Big XII is slightly better, that's more a product of weak scheduling and 1 fewer conference game, which basically gives the Pac-10 an extra 10 losses.

I never said USC would leapfrog Texas...I just think they're a much better team.

Both are going to be good, but Texas has what I think is the best field general in America, whereas USC does have a battle going on there, and when it comes to comparisons like that, the issue cannot be overlooked.

Oh, I thought that's what we were talking about.

True, there's a battle, but Aaron Corp and Mitch Mustain would start at all but 3 or 4 other universities.

No, I'd imagine Texas would get the nod, like last year (They finished ranked ahead of USC), even though USC has the much tougher schedule.

Bane of your existence 03-24-2009 09:30 PM

Well I think that all had to do with the nature of their losses. Texas lost to a one loss team on the road on a final play.

Either way, I don't know if I see either team beating Florida.

ProggyMan 03-24-2009 09:50 PM

Really? USC is just the most talented team in the country, plain and simple...I just don't think Florida has the size and physicality to compete with a team like that.
