But now my hometown of Cleveland is the unquestioned most starved town in sports...

Anyone can come play in the US (except countries that do not allow emigration), Canada has the Jays and someone that slips my mind, and South/Central America is a huge source of talent, along with Japan. If a team wins the world series, they are the best (or hottest at the time) in the world, because Europe/Africa/most of Asia do not play it significantly.

Yeah, people always say it shouldn't be called the World Series though. My family is to baseball as Canadians are to hockey. I was raised on it.

I f*cking hate baseball, it would be the worst sport in history if NASCAR hadn't interceded on its behalf and claimed the crown. And I come from a long line of baseball players... My grandfather played for the Cleveland Indians and apparently I'm distantly related to Honus Wagner.
