year1 - 88 2 - 81 3 - 91 sure, he's had a very good start to his career. but to vault him into top 10 QB level(let alone 2nd best at home...) is RIDICULOUS. I like to see numbers out of my QB's, not just hype.

What is the basis behind these rankings? They don't seem to follow any sort of discernible pattern. Roethlisberger seems low, especially in the same territory as Cutler. He has 2 rings while 3 of the guys above him have never even sniffed a Super Bowl. Plus, what was that you were saying about "vaulting" a guy into the top 10 so early in his career? You have Josh Freeman at #10.
Plus, where's Mark Sanchez?

Josh Freeman in the top 10? Because he had one good season where he didn't make the playoffs and played the easiest, cupcake schedule of all-time? He couldn't beat a good team all year. Bucs are an up and coming team but they are 2 years away from being a playoff team and he's a few years away from being a top 10 QB if he even ever gets there. What has he even accomplished? A good season where he beat up on crap football teams. Fitzpatrick? Lol, that's the biggest joke of all... He's never even had a good season. This was, by far, his best season and he was like 22nd in Qb rating. He has literally never been a good player at all. He couldn't even open the season starting for the Bills, who are a disaster of a franchise. Having him anywhere near the top 20 is borderline crazy. Here's my top 10. I'm not a huge stat guy, they can be misleading. But I've watched every week of NFL football for the past decade and this is how I would rank the QBs 1) Manning 2) Brady 3) Brees 4) Rivers 5) Rodgers 6) Vick 7) Roethlisberger 8) Ryan 9) Flacco 10) Schaub 11) Eli 12) Cutler 13) Bradford 14) Cassel 15) Freeman 16)Sanchez There's a lot of guys that could be flip-flopped but basically I view it in tiers. Manning and Brady are a level above everyone. Then Brees, Rivers, and Rodgers are pretty inter-changable. Then like Schaub, Eli, Cutler are all guys who are good but you can't trust them. Then the rest I have listed are guys without a ton of experience but look real solid. Orton is the definition of mediocre, I can't even include him. He's like a Garrard type in my opinion. |

There's nobody on the Falcons roster that's overrated. The Falcons only got love towards the end of the season because they HAD to get recognition. If you think the Falcons are overrated... well, LOL. You can trash talk about them losing all you wont, that's fine. The Packers are a damn good team and played a damn good game. The Falcons are a damn good team but played awful. You can continue to talk all the trash you want about them but they ARE a damn good team. Ryan's numbers might not stack up against some of the other quarterbacks out there right now but Atlanta's a running team. They get their run game going before they throw the ball. They are not known to throw the deep ball and have HUGE plays, that's just not what they do. We lost and I'm totally accepting of that. I think the Packers are the best right now, honestly. I think they have a good chance of going to the super bowl. Rodgers is a damn good quarterback and no doubt one of the top in the NFL right now. So, while I think the Falcons are taking a lot of **** for coming in being the favorites and getting blown out but they played badly. If you play bad in the playoffs you can expect to get beaten. That's understood. Does it take away from the rest of the accomplishments they have had this year? No. It simply means they struggled in this one game and in the playoffs its win or go home. As Dirty said the Falcons have a few more years in them with a damn good shot to make something of themselves. I think with a little work on the defensive side of things they will be good to go.

I almost took this list seriously until I saw Cassel's even being included and started laughing. The rest is pretty spot-on, though. I'd shuffle around 12-16 (excepting Cassel who would be nowhere near my list) and agree - oh, and switch Brees and Rivers.

Re considering I'd move Cassell below Freeman and Sanchez. The guy took the Chiefs to the playoffs this year, give credit where it's due. I know they relied on the running game but nobody on Earth thought KC was going to the playoffs this year. He was great in his year in New England, bad last year, but cmon its gonna be tough going from the Pats to the Chiefs, and then rebounded this year to play really well. I don't know why you are so low on him, it's not like I'm ranking him elite or anything, but he's better than a lot of the QBs in the league Last edited by Dirty; 01-18-2011 at 10:37 PM. |

1. Brady
2. Manning 3. Brees 4. Roethlisberger 5. Rodgers 6. Rivers 7. Romo 8. Vick* 9t. Ryan 9t. Flacco 11. Manning 12. Cutler *on the strength of his overall playmaking ability, which makes up for his lackluster passing history
