YeahI was a tad surprised they came out at 2... I mean they did beat number 1, but prior to that, they had a pretty cake schedule compared to some...
But I guess PSU only faced 2 ranked teams, one of which isn't even ranked anymore... and #3 is plenty enough respect :p Although it could lead to a nice bowl, I hate Georgia Tech being ranked when I know we aren't going to go much further... Always lose the week after :o But we are still in the running for the ACC Championship game And guess what, we are ranked again this week Against the damn Tar Heels... |

i bet the NFL forced romeo's hand in this matter. first thursday night game of the season(2 slumping teams) and he is going to have 1 full day of practice. in addition, anderson had a pretty good game this past week.

Anderson obviously wasn't the future, obviously enough at the end of last year, where he had a lot of very average games, and pretty much cost the Browns a playoff spot vs Cincy... Though I am hearing people go on about how they could have gotten a 1st round or something if they traded at the end of last year. IMO keeping him was the best option at 2mil g, but they gave him a massive pay rise. If they traded him, and did well while Quinn stunk up the place, they would be getting trashed... They gave Ando the chance, and pretty much got them out of playoff contention quite early (Along with fumble fingers Braylon ) I'm hoping Quinn does well for them though.. A solid half a year of practice before stepping up next year when they will hope to push with a new signed RB and hopefully some good additions to the front seven or Dbacks. |

High school football at its finest.
I'm not too mad about the rankings -- PSU has the highest probability of staying undefeated ('Bama has to play LSU and probably Florida in the SEC championship, and Texas Tech has a rough schedule ahead of itself). It's just that people disrespect the Big Ten so much, regardless of how good a team may be. Here's a handful of reasons why we should be ranked above Texas Tech: 1) One of the best defenses in the nation, allowing about 11 PPG (and six against Ohio State). 2) A GREAT running game and hands-down the best wide receivers in the nation. 3) A blooming quarterback who represents a dual threat.

"With one game, Appalachian State served notice that it is ready to defend its national title for a fourth straight time. The Mountaineers scored TDs on their first six possessions en route to a 70-24 rout of conference rival Wofford. Armanti Edwards threw for 367 yards and five TDs while leading Appalachian State to its sixth straight win and a No. 2 ranking in this week's Index."
I was at that game, it was amazing. |
