This is how things are in sports. Sports are about being competitive and tough, it has nothing to do with some "manly" subculture, it's the sports culture. We can call Incognito a douche all day, and bringing race into the conversation is absolutely where he took it too far, but other than that there's really nothing wrong or surprising about dudes in a football locker room getting on each other's asses. Martin clearly isn't emotionally tough enough for the NFL if he can't handle a little trash talk the right way. If you don't understand this, FtD, you really just need to stop arguing because you are incredibly unqualified to discuss this topic and provide any opinions that hold any merit. You have zero evidence or experience. We also have zero evidence, but at least we have experience.
Bullying isn't acceptable, it's banned in nearly every locker room, from high school to college to the NFL, and for good reason. Competitive and tough on the field is one thing, but harassment is not competitive nor is it tough, it's being an *******, whether or not you realize it or not. If someone doesn't like it, then they have a right to tell you, and if you don't stop, they have a right to sue you for harassment. Martin didn't even do that, he left the team, eventually the media caught on to it, and then the NFL did the rest. The fact that the NFL took it as seriously as they did, and the fact that the Dolphins took it as seriously as they did, should say everything there is to know about the context of this issue. One guy got harassed, one guy feels betrayed, it's life. It's reality. There's no subculture argument needed, no personal sentiments required, them's the hard facts of this issue.

And I'm done.

One PS though:

Believe me, I've come up with literally every scenario that you could possibly make in this issue. Have you ever thought maybe Jonathan Martin has been waiting for this the whole time, that he could have calculated this very well, and he could have actually been playing cool with it, before pulling the rug out from under Incognito's immediate playing career?

I have. It was one of the first things that crossed my mind, among other things. We can get into theoretical stuff all day, but now we have the facts from an independent source, and they can provide an objective source to bounce our opinions off of. I think I did that very well.

Okay, not so much a PS as another long post. Either way, this is it, I'm bored of this issue.

In other news, my once favorite player is no longer my favorite player. I thought you were better than that, Ray Rice.

Ftd bullying is a huge grey area and if someone really wanted to twist things or make a report they could prob destroy any locker room in the country. Yes laws are universal but that doesn't change the fact that certain behavior is more acceptable or more expected in some places more than others. Incognito unknowingly went too far and I believe that he had no idea it was affectin martin so greatly. He is a douche but I also don't think he needs crucified as badly as some are doin. There's a reason his teammates had his back. Teammates that have spent most their lives in locker rooms which tells me the things they saw weren't that extreme compared to other locker rooms they'd been part of. The ones most outraged are ppl who have no concept of locker room culture thus it sounds much more extreme to them. The nfl snd dolphins had to take it seriously to save face. Its s public relations issue.

Ray rice is toast. That vid is really damning. I thought it was prob some dumb fight and no big deal but it looks like he really hit her which surprised ne given he seemed like one of the nfls high character guys. He might be off most teams but baltimore stood by a guy in a double murder case and suggs who beat his gf I believe

Man, I can't even comprehend making an argument entirely based off of assumptions and generalizations, but that's just me I guess.
