Look mate, this isn't homerism. I truly believe Kaep has one of the best arms in the NFL. I think he can do things other QBs can't. The offense as a whole is having a down year due to injuries and an offensive coordinator who is Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to calling plays. We don't call screens. We don't run many slants. Part of this is because Kaep is learning what kind of QB he is. At the present moment he is having trouble making touch passes and is forcing throws into coverage. He's doing it lot. This is what is accounting for his completion percentage. I also can't stress this enough. He has had two targets all year. Two. Those two targets may be hall of fame caliber targets but there are 11 defenders out there. For the beginning of the season, Kaep has had only one read because he doesn't trust the rest of his receiving corps. Jon Baldwin has been on the team for three months and has like three catches. Kyle Williams had ten in six games as a starter. It has contributed to his stats being sh*t this year.
All I'm saying is that as a football player...stats aside, Kaep is legit. He has a rocket arm and can't make tight as sh*t throws. I've seen every game he's ever played. I'm not being a homer. Russell Wilson is my favorite player in the NFL not on the 49ers and he is THE ENEMY. I respect and love football and enjoy watching the game regardless of what team is playing. I understand my Alex Smith example was weak but honestly I was under the impression until your last post that you only looked at the stats. |

well maybe just a little bit of homerism, i mean cmon half the things you say about him are actually agreeing with me. you just said he cant make touch passes and forces throws into coverage a lot. i agree he has a unique and special skill set, to me like a slightly different but comparable young mike vick. by that, havin elite speed at the position and a rocket arm. hes an elite athlete, ive said hes a guy you can build around but theres just no reason that offense should be strugglin the way theyve struggled this yr. every team has injuries, yes san frans could be considered major, but their 2 best weapons were still there and they have a bunch of maulers on that offensive line and a top tier running back. it makes no sense that they have struggled and ive watched enough games, maybe a handful, to see that they are gonna struggle if you can get them to 3rd and longs where kaep is gonna have to make a smart progression read and throw the ball through a cover 3 or somethin.
im usually willing to take every quarterbacks 2nd yr with a grain of salt because usually thats a down year because defenses have the off season to study their flaws. the good ones get better and fix those flaws. san frans defense is so good tho and it makes kaep look better because hes winnin games, just look at cam newton. last yr ppl thought he was terrible and this yr hes the same player but has a killer defense to play with. i woulda probably took kaep over smith too but smith is in a perfect fit in kansas city with a great coach in reid. would love to see chiefs vs niners superbowl, what a story line that would be. i don know about the afc yet but i have seahawks goin to the superbowl and it's written in ink. its too hard to imagine them losin at home and they are gonna be playin in seattle all the way to the superbowl |

Oh Seahawks and 49ers have the two best defenses in the NFL right now. Anything can happen in the playoffs. |

I have never rooted for the Ravens but damn if I wasn't a fan last night. Even if the Bears make it into the Playoffs, they'll more than likely get shutdown right there. End of the line.

Being a 49er fan, I naturally hate The Ravens. But I was on my feet after that kick made it through. That was awesome. I don't understand how he kicked it that far with those gigantic balls of his.

Farewell to Candlestick Park. I may have never graced your presence but I've had a wonderful 15 years of watching games played on your field. You'll be missed even though I've been told you're an old dump.
Goodnight Sweet Prince. |
