Kaepernick to get the start again. I honestly didn't see this coming this year. I thought Kaep was a project and that Alex would helm the QB position for the entirety of this year and probably next. I didn't expect this. I agree with Harbaugh though. Let the hot hand continue to play. It wouldn't be fair to either man to bench them but you have to bench somebody. You can't start two QBs and you're not going to just cut one of them. A decision must be made and it has been made.
Looking forward to riding this out. Should be fun. |

Drew Bledsoe's last season he was 5-11 and thus the reason for putting in Tom Brady in the first place after the second game of the next season when he got hurt. He was already sucking arse, and continued sucking arse as a Cowboy till he was benched and Romo starting QBing. Alex Smith on the other hand had just been named the NFC's player of the week, was ranked 5th in the NFl with a passer rating of 104.1, and a 70.0% completion record. Since 2010 Smiths record as a starter is 21-6-1...like said, if it aint broke dont fix it. Especially right before the playoff's

I want to win a superbowl. I've been a die hard 49er fan for 15 years and it's time I see that damn trophy hoisted. I was 6 in 1994. That **** doesn't count. If Harbaugh thinks Kaep is the one that will get us to the big game then I got to go with his gut feeling. The man has had a brilliant track record of making good decisions since he came into the league.
It is however a huge risk. HUGE. First off I believe Kaep will play good enough until the playoffs to remain the starter. We just don't face any formidable defenses until playoff time. If Kaep fails in the playoffs and loses us a game we are screwed. Screwed. Alex wouldn't want to play here anymore and I wouldn't blame him. The locker room will lose faith in Harbaugh to make the right decisions for the team. You would also have the question mark of whether or not to go out and pursue a high quality quarterback in FA if it proves Kaep can't handle big games. We've seen Jim do it already with Manning. If I were to bet money. I'd say that our defense carries this team to the superbowl. They have been on FIRE the last two weeks and I think they'll carry it through. Kaep is a better playmaker then Alex and I think he'll do what he did sunday against the Saints. Make a few big plays and protect the ball. That is what a QB in this system is designed to do. Except with Kaep, you get the added bonus of a bona fide playmaker. Again. Big risk. Hope it plays out. |

My hopes for my Chargers making the playoffs have pretty much gone out the window at this point. Goddamn it all. I'm calling for Norv's head at this point, but that doesn't do much good. He should have been fired every single season for the past several seasons. Maybe he's just a nice guy. I don't know. But he's NOT making anything even resembling good choices for this team.

It's Rivers' fault more than anyone else's. You could argue his progression could be better at this point in his career with another coach, but Turner is traditionally very good with QBs, and statistically, he hasn't been bad with Rivers either.
Turner is accountable, though, so he should be canned either way, and he definitely has made his fair share of blunders as far as I can tell, but man. Rivers is so inconsistent. Sometimes he plays like an elite QB, sometimes he'll just go three-and-out for a couple quarters in a row, or throw interceptions on a few consecutive drives to put the game out of reach, or just to give the other team a chance. Rivers will usually be awful for at least one quarter of every game, and many times that's enough for the other team to take control of the game. Maybe they should get Andy Reid, who is still one of the best coaches in the NFL, and will be available next year. |
