Alex Smith gets the job done, he has for a year and a half almost now, and he got the the conference championship, and he almost got to the SB.
I'm not saying he's great, but he's mot exactly Tim Tebow either. He completes passes, usually doesn't throw picks, and that's usually enough. The 49ers played awful against the Giants, and still only allowed 26. A lesser team gives up 40+ when your starting QB is that bad. |

You guys are basically writing the 9ers off, when they're probably about to win their division and make a run in the playoffs. I can make a much better case for their execution than you can make for their lack thereof. I can, and have. |

He is nothing like Tim Tebow. What would be accurate is if Tebow lost his ability to scramble and run over linebackers, but learned how to complete passes at a respectable rate, and throw spirals, he would be Alex Smith. Tebow is Peyton Hillis with a little bit of an arm. |

Hey, lets put alex smith on the denver broncos last year, and see how effective of a qb he would have been.
tebow has won from behind. At least when tebow throws it it goes high in the air and a receiver catches it downfield |

Soooo...the argument here is that Alex Smith is capable of beating a high powered offense like the packers or the patriots? Is that what yall are debating? Ill just throw my two cents in for the heck of it here. He can as long as the San Fran deffense can contain them and hold the opposing team to maybe 17 points or something in that area. If they need a last minute scoring drive where its all on his back and they going on a 2 minute drill....not so much I dont think. Or if they have to match blows with an opposing offense, say touchdown for touchdown. No, not so much. If that is the debate that is how I view it because he has not shown me anything to the latter. You honestly cant make much of a case for him being anything more than what he is and thats a QB riding the back of his deffense and Frank Gores beast like rushing. If Gore gets hurt, which he was showing signs that he was shaken up cause he left the game early last night. They are more than likely in for a long rest of the season. Does that put any kind of clarity on the points I think both parties are talking about here? Or am I missing something?
