I agree, all I was saying is it is not really much of a sport to me, it never was, it is more entertainment. It is more evolved as a sport now. I feel it is mostly about money. You dont have to have PPV to watch the Superbowl, NBA Finals, etc...

Trainer Greg Jackson seems to really have Liddell's number (he trained Rashad Evans, Rampage Jackson, and Keith Jardine, 3 of only 5 people to EVER beat Chuck Liddell). It seems to me that Liddell has not evolved along with the sport that he has helped popularize. Throwing overhand hay-makers and sporting a mohawk can only get you so far. I don't understand why he doesn't utilize his wrestling. Liddell was an All-American at San Luis Obispo, but whens the last time he used his wrestling? A single-leg attempt on Wanderlei Silva? Maybe throwing wide punches and keeping your hands NOWHERE NEAR your face isnt the best fight plan, especially if your opponent throws a punch at you. Evans earned a title shot, which nixed UFC's New Years end superfight between Liddell and Griffin (TUF1 coach vs. TUF1 winner). I think a main event of two TUF winners is a great thing for the UFC. TUF veterans are as close to 100% home-grown talent as an MMA organization can get, so this will speak wonders for their credibility. And R.I.P. Evan Tanner |
