There's no doubt that the football (american soccer) has the clear right to the name. First and foremost as you mentioned you actually use your foot a good majority of the game where is in the NFL the role of kicking the ball is relegated to the guy who was not good enough to play in the MLS let alone premier league, and thus has put on his helmet and become "a kicker".

In addition it came first and has "dibs" which of course holds up in any court internationally. Also the rest of the world calls it football so America might need to project a bit here. American Football should just be called what it really is: An excuse for men to gather for 8-12 hours on a Sunday (and some Saturdays) consume copious amounts of grilled, fried or pizza related food. Drink in excess of a case of beer, gamble on things he has no control and insult his friends, who have gathered with him and have taken his money.

That is real Football.

If you're posting in the music forums make sure to be thoughtful and expressive, if you're posting in the lounge ask yourself "is this something that adds to the conversation?" It's important to remember that a lot of people use each thread. You're probably not as funny or clever as you think, I know I'm not.
