Good one!:laughing:

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-02-2008 01:47 PM

Portugal , because I picked them out in a sweepstake.

Rainard Jalen 06-02-2008 04:31 PM

Portugal, France or Italy. Netherlands and Spain are good teams but rarely do well in these competitions, much like England.

I wouldn't think it far fetched to say that Croatia also have a shot, as the dark-horse team.

Piss Me Off 06-03-2008 06:42 AM

Group C looks a nightmare.

right-track 06-03-2008 11:35 AM

Here's my group winner predictiions;

Group A
* Portugal

Group B
* Germany

Group C
* France

Group D
* Spain

I'm backing Portugal...unless Ronaldo leaves United. :/
Tip to win the tournament is France.

Player of the tounament will be the Frenchman, Karim Benzema.
I reckon this player is going to hit Europe like an SS Panzer division.

@ RT: Karim Benzema? That's a funny way of spelling Franck Ribery's name. 11 goals in 20 games, come on! Too bad neither one of them is going to be recognized when they lose to Poland. Maciej Zurawski & Lukasz Fabianski ftw.

right-track 06-03-2008 01:54 PM

^Welcome back motherfucker. :D

Give him 2 years and Ribery won't be fit to tie his bootlaces.
Benzema has the explosive energy of a young Ronaldo (Brazilian Ronaldo) and the skill, style and poise of Zidane...and still only 20 years old!

Goal/Game return: 20 Goals, 36 Games (French League): 4 Goals, 7 Games (Champions League)

anticipation 06-03-2008 02:09 PM

after seeing that, i don't doubt that Benzema will be great after he develops more, but Ribery is France's premier player right now.

no matter how ridiculous he looks in that marseille jersey...

jackhammer 06-03-2008 05:37 PM

A usual English response: who gives a rats arse! In all honesty, I want Croatia. They deserved to beat us and have some good players.

Loser 06-04-2008 03:19 PM

I predicted Itly in the World Cup, and I'm predicitng them to win the Euro....Oh, did I mention i'm Italian :thumb:

portugal ftw.

i really don't like christiano as a player, because he is so selfish, but he can put the ball in the back of the net.

adidasss 06-08-2008 02:29 AM

Well, after seeing the game last night, Portugal gets my vote too...

Piss Me Off 06-08-2008 07:02 AM

They're the best team by a mile in that group definitely, the others don't compare.
Germany playing today, another good bet to win. Is it Croatia as well? They could be a dark horse.

five9four 06-08-2008 09:50 AM

I'll agree Germany does have some real talent, Ballack is one of my favorite mid fielders.

Haven't seen Croatia play, but if you guys are saying alot of good things ill have to look into seeing them play.

You're in luck, Croatia v Austria is about to kick off!

jackhammer 06-08-2008 11:20 AM

I was going to be a big child and not watch it for obvious reasons but I ended up watching the highlights last night. That was enough to make want to watch it and just enjoy some football, without having to have my heart stop three times when we lose on penalties.

Thats the right attitude, its nice not to have to worry about your own team to be honest. Means i can spend my time critisising all the other teams instead!

adidasss 06-08-2008 11:57 AM

Well, so much for the dark horse theory...we were absolute shyte...:\

right-track 06-08-2008 12:18 PM

You need an out and out finisher.
Good start though and you'll be hard to score against so it's not all bad.
Sometimes good teams play better against stronger opposition.
For your sake, lets hope that's the case.

2nd half definitely.
I have to say i want one of the home countries to go through, and Austria look the strongest.

adidasss 06-08-2008 12:43 PM

Yeah, Switzerland was a better team against the Czechs but lost all the same...I doubt either will pull through really...

I love how everyone was saying we were the clear favorites and then we're practically non-existent on the pitch. It's pure chance the Austrians didn't score in the second half really...:\
Our reporters blamed it all on the reff...:laughing: Although really, he should have given that bloke a second yellow card...
But nevermind, onward and upward. :)

Piss Me Off 06-08-2008 12:52 PM

Its still 3 points, and with Germany as your next game you're going to need them.

adidasss 06-08-2008 01:01 PM

Ooh, I forgot the second game is on. Let's see what the Poles and Germans can do...

adidasss 06-08-2008 03:00 PM

Ok, they're definitely gonna murder us...:|

Piss Me Off 06-08-2008 03:25 PM

Polands defense was shocking to be fair. But Frings and Podolski were definitely in form, they'll be the dangermen along with Klose when he decides to hit the net...

Nosmada 06-08-2008 03:37 PM

and bastian, came on strong at the end after being carded.

Dude with Polish name, birth and second generation heritage scores against the Poles. And for GERMANY no less. Oh, the irony.

Piss Me Off 06-09-2008 12:34 PM

France 0 Romania 0, bloody boring throughout. At least Romania are a step further to going through though.

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-09-2008 12:35 PM

I'm glad it's a draw.

That result should blow that group wide open.

right-track 06-09-2008 01:18 PM

Holland 2 nil up! :D

adidasss 06-09-2008 01:21 PM

Best game so far...hopefully they'll both go through in the end.

right-track 06-09-2008 01:25 PM

If it stays like this, Italy will be bottom of the group.
My money and hopes are on France and Holland to qualify from this group.
Anyone but the Eyeties.

Piss Me Off 06-09-2008 01:26 PM

That Sneijder goal totally made up for the horrible decision on the first goal. Holland look powerful.

What's your problem with the Eyeties?
I really really dislike France. They play extremely boring football and haven't really shown anything since the 98' generation left...:\
