Jeter's (in the ALCS) would be .262 20 HR and 80 RBI Overall in the playoffs Jeter's would be .309 19 HR and 57 rbi

Yet Jeter is the most clutch player ever and A-rod chokes in the playoffs. This is why you don't listen to the media.
Averaging them out over a whole season? What good is that? Rod has been to the ALCS twice compared to Jeter's seven. That alone makes comparing their ALCS stats less credible. What matters is how they have done in the playoffs in general. And the other part of the problem is the huge discrepancy between his regular season stats and his playoff stats.

His numbers in the playoffs are as follows:

.279 avg.
1 HR per 21 at bats

vs.

career numbers of:

.306 avg.
1 HR per 14 at bats

That's 50% more at bats for a single home run in the playoffs and 27 points lower batting average. Is it really a myth?

Cards fan. Guess we gotta watch the team sans Pujols for a few weeks. That's ok, Ludwick and Ankiel are hot. Mather is a beautiful new addition and our starters have the second best record in MLB, atm. But come on Pujols....

Yeh, I'm kinda' scared. He's had so many nagging injuries now. He's the best in the game right now imo, the Cards need him right now.
