I dont keep up with baseball at all really. Other than suffering through some highlights while im waiting to see football or basketball updates. However if there was more well thought out escape routes from fans who love to get drunk and run across the field. I just may become a fan of the sport before too long. Ive never really given these guys much thought other than "look at that idiot" But man I have to say this is one of the best runs ive ever seen from a nutty crazed fan. Enjoy

This was last Friday night at Minute Park in Houston if im not mistaken..."and escapes to the bat moblile I assume"

Derek Jeter 3,000 hits!

Even if I hated a player, I'd still applaud their 3,000 hit achievement. Less than 30 guys have ever done it and in my opinion is the greatest milestone in sports. Better than 500 home runs, and I'm not counting 300 wins because I don't think we'll ever see one again.

I've always liked Jeter, even when I've hated the Yanks. He's just the ultimate pro. All he does is come through in the clutch and bang EVERY hott celebrity movie star there has ever been. This guys dating resume looks like every others guys top ten wish list. But really though, those Yankees teams that 3-peated and beat my Mets in 2000 (I think) are classic teams that I'll always remember and Jeter was the rock for them at shortstop. He's just been such a consistently great player over the years and in my opinion really likable in the media and I'm saying that as a diehard Mets fan.

Of course DJ does it in style by going 5 for 5 and hitting a homer for hit number 3,000. What a champ.

I hate Jeter but 3,000 is a massive accomplishment. And A-Rod isn't too far away either... I'd really like to see Ichiro get there so someone I don't hate does it.

Can't believe Bautista choked in the HR Derby last night. Ah, I can probably forgive him if he keeps up what he's been doing the past two seasons.

Bautista is a beast but last night was a poor showing. Cano and Adrian have such effortless swings. Lefties have such smooth swings that you dont see from righties. I was a really good baseball player growing up but was always pretty jealous of lefties. Prince mad a mistake though, he shoulda picked Justin Upton to participate in his home park. Young kid, unreal power, budding star, it was the perfect pick but he went with his team mate Weeks.

I personally think the all star game is a joke but I'll watch it anyways. It just pisses me off that it makes no sense that it determines home field advantage. You have a bunch of pitchers who can't pitch since they just had a start so they get replaced. Half the players claim an injury and don't wanna show up. It's just stupid and I hate Bud selig.

A-Rod is going to get to it, which sucks because he is my least favorite player of all-time. I don't know how anyone could like the guy, he's such a douche. Ichiro would need to play another 3-4 years to get 3,000 and I don't know if he has it in him, but god I hope he does. Ichiro is one of my favorite players and I think he should be a hall of famer someday.

I hate all All-Star games. I never even watch them. It's almost like watching a completely different sport as you see next to no effort put in. For home-field to be decided in a game like that is just retarded. I do like the Dunk Competition and the HR Derby, but that's about it for all All-Star weekends.

My beloved New York Mets have really over-achieved this year. They aren't going to the playoffs but it makes me feel better seeing them over-achieve instead of under achieve like usual. Jose Reyes has been a stud this year. I haven't liked him the past few years because he could be so much better if he didn't have such a horrible swing. Such a frustrating guy to root for. Should be interesting to see what he does this off-season. Hopefully he re-signs for a decent contract but I fully expect him to get WAY overpaid like all free agents do, and if that's the case someone else can have him. The Jason Bay contract will haunt my dreams for years.

Anyways, Beltran is gonna get dealt. Easily the best hitter available and lots of teams are interested. I am praying so badly that the Mets make a good trade and get some prospects in return. Please God let someone get desperate and throw us a great prospect.

Dirty, glad to see another Mets fan on here!

I actually have a couple of Mets shirts - one is at my mom's house somewhere, and the other I still use for a pajama shirt: It's a t-shirt with the logo and "Martinez 45" on the back.

I dig the team in general, but I'd been a Pedro fan since elementary school. When he went to the Mets, I was overjoyed. Shame that he's old and not playing anywhere anymore. His first year with the Mets, he was making a legitimate run for the Cy Young.

No way, another Mets fan! I have been trying to convince my brother to get a Mets tattoo with me for a few months. Now that he's home from South Carolina I'm gonna make a strong push and see what happens. How'd you end up a Mets fan in Kentucky?

I loved Pedro. He was one of my all time favorites even when he was with Boston. He was just awesome and was such a character, I loved watching him pitch.

In other news, Phillies are trading for Hunter Pence. BUT they are giving up their 2 best prospects. I think Pence will fit great in Philly but that's a big price to pay for a guy like that.

Looks like the Miami Marlins aren't messing around with trying to get Pujols. Too bad they're not in the American League, I was hoping to see that Miami/Chicago World Series Back to the Future II promised me.
