I'm hoping to go to some too! My dad was a season ticket holder for the last 4 seasons, but he didn't renew this year . The seats were great too - Premium Dugout section, 3rd base line, 6 rows up.

That's awesome (er, was awesome I guess). I usually get out to at least a couple in the summer. Good start for them today.

I wanna get to some Pirates games. The stadium and area is absolutely beautiful and they usually have cool post-game events to bring in fans since their attendance isn't great sometimes (and the team sucks). I saw Styx play after the game once which was pretty cool. Their ticket prices are also really cheap since they don't ever have a large team salary and they offer these all-you-can-eat tickets in the outfield where you cna get as much food as you want. I'd love to go see my Mets, but it's a long drive through the city and really pricey. They lost today, didn't get a hit til the 6th inning or so. And it only took them about an hour into the season to allow a grand slam... Gonna be a long season.

Pittsburgh is an awesome city. I have no idea why it gets such a bad rap.

I was born in Pittsburgh and a lot of my family is still there. It's mostly a football city, but I am convinced if they get an owner who wants to raise the payroll and put a competitive team on the field, they will fill that beautiful park they have

Pirates are never gonna field a competitive team. It would take a miracle. Baseball is all about expectations in my opinion. And for the Pirates, a .500 season is something that should be hoped for. Teams like Pittsburgh just don't have the money to get superstar players. There is no incentive for any big free agent to want to play in Pittsburgh. Same goes for plenty of other baseball cities as well. Unfortunately a salary cap will never happen. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer. It's like...If the Yankees don't win the world series every year, their season was a failure. But if the Pirates get to .500 it's a great season.

I am planning to go with some buddies to Pittsburgh for the June 4th game VS the Phillies, just made tentative arrangements the other night.

Also, my Mets are on a 6 game win streak. It's one of the few times this season they will go on such a streak so I am cherishing the moment while it lasts.

Dude, I'm a Padres fan, I feel your pain. The great thing about going to Padres games is that the stadium is right in the middle of the Gaslamp District where all the bars and clubs are, so it's a great place to pre-game for the club, or just get completely ****ed and watch some baseball. But unfortunately, 2010 was probably the last winning season they will see for quite some time. 3 of our best players have been basically given away the last 3 years. A-Gonz, Kouz, and Peavy were all traded for next to nothing just because management won't pay them a decent salary.

I had a blast when I visited Pittsburg, I just can't stand all the Steeler fans, they're my 3rd least favorite people in the US.

I'm second in my fantasy league! Yeahhh, son!

My current matchup, I'm winning 8-0

11 Runs
3 Homeruns
13 RBIs
1 Stolen base
.250 Batting Avg.

2 Wins
13 Strikeouts
2.81 ERA
.81 WHIP

I'm doing all right.

Hoping to catch some Reds games this year, also.

I wish I was in a head-to-head fantasy league. I used to be big into fantasy baseball but the sports nerds I play with just take it too seriously. I got tired of phone calls every day trying to persuade me to make a trade. And there were always 1 or 2 guys in the league who didn't know as much as everyone else and would make horrible trades and boost someone's team to elite status. And it was basically a race to see who could manipulate and persuade the 1 dumbass in the league to trade off their good players. Plus it was a roto league and we had like 20 man rosters. So literally almost every starter in the entire league was on a team and it became a hassle. But damnit, I still miss rooting for certain guys.

I feel like Pitt used to get a bad rap but really doesn't anymore. Then again I'm in PA so all I hear about is how great Pittsburgh is so my view is skewed. I've said before, it's a great city and I love it. I wanna live there someday if my dream of living near the beach doesn't pan out.

Padres are in the same boat as half the league. You get young players, develop them into great players, and then after they are good you can't afford them. You almost just have to put together one awesome year where everything clicks. Cause to sign these good players, you have to take a huge risk and offer them a ton of money and years early in their career and hope they pan out. I grew up with baseball my whole life and I've always been a fan but it's structure is just so shitty. I'm starting to like the NBA and NFL a lot more
