But my main reason for posting here today is to vent a little about this miserable 2008 team. My god this team sucks. I can't express it harshly enough. They can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag with samurai swords (and Ichiro should know he wields one). Trading for an old and busted Griffey, Jr. is not the answer either, not by a long shot. The team needs to go out on the town and find a group of slump-busters and lay the lumber to 'em, it's our only hope.

what do you guys think about the whole 'using a replay system in baseball'?
in the past week or so there have been 3 calls, that i know of, where a homerun wasnt called correctly. I was watching the yanks game and they were discussing about a possiblity of some kind of relay system for the umpire's.

ummmm form what i understand about this subject, is that they are going to use the minors as an trial from this such system, but only review such plays as homeruns as to if they went over and stayed fair. i agree with that usage but anything more than that no, not at all.

I'm not a fan of replay in sports in general because there is always going to be some degree of subjectivity, it can slow down a game and take away what makes it fun to watch and it tends to put the spotlight on referees who don't need any more pressure from moronic fans that don't understand the rules of a sport and almost never decide if a game is won or lost. However, if technology can make the game more fairly officiated it should be used. If it is used in football there is no reason it shouldn't be used at times in every major sport when applicable.

Basbeall myth: A-Rod can't hit in the postseason.
If A-Rod's ALCS numbers were averaged out for a whole season of baseball his final stats would be .317 average 42 home runs and 108 rbi; Overall in the playoffs they'd be .279 35 hr and 85 rbi Jeter's (in the ALCS) would be .262 20 HR and 80 RBI Overall in the playoffs Jeter's would be .309 19 HR and 57 rbi Yet Jeter is the most clutch player ever and A-rod chokes in the playoffs. This is why you don't listen to the media. |
