Lack of personality with today's players. Give me Ilie Nastase any day of the week.

TBF I like my athletes to be hilariously unpalatable to the masses. Too many people still latch onto the idea that people whose only reason for being famous is being athletic should also be paragons of virtue. That's dumb. Give me *******s. All the *******s. Let those people who idolize athletes for reasons other than athleticism eat crow. I still love that American football player who, in response to the idea of gay people on his team, responded, "Can’t be with that sweet stuff." Legendary.

I like the bad guys if they're likeable with their badness.

When Tyson first came on the scene he was absolutely mindblowing. Not a single boxer ever had that combination of skill and BRUTAL power.

If Cus D'Amato hadn't died, Tyson would have gone down at the greatest in history. D'Amato took him in as a kid, not only as his trainer, but as a father figure. Notice how gracious he is in most of those clips.

Once D'Amato was gone, Tyson fell under the spell of Don King and Las Vegas and his career and life completely fell apart. He became a complete dick and started getting beat, regularly.

I don't disagree with you. my sport is hockey, and nhl culture is hilariously anti-personality that it's gotten to the point where if you aren't cardboard you'll get roasted by the fans and media
