What the hell does this mean?

hockey is a "ghost town" in most towns when it doesn't win. America seems to be coming together for all sports these days though, Hockey, Soccer, even horse racing is blowing up these days.

Not in Buffalo. Maybe you see it this way because of all the successful sports teams you have in the area, which overshadow the B's. In Buff, we got the Bills and Sabres, and they are fully loved by all constantly. You did say most towns so you are probably right, I have not seen too much fandom in my travels.

Thats not at all the case...hockey cities are hockey cities. Doesnt matter whether they're winning or not. Its the ****ty american towns that cant host a team that only have fans when they're winning. Bring em up to Canada...we can sell out every night. Vancouver has sold out every game for the last 9 years or something.

I think this was originally broadcast during the lockout.

Every town has frontrunners, more prominent in some.

Whoa nelly. I hope that is referring to the warm weather ****ty american towns, in which it is fully understandable why they have such a poor fan base, they are new to the sport, and who really cares about hockey when you have warm weather and beaches, something Canada dreams of. I think it is fair to say that in cold weather cities, where hockey is meant to be played, the fans are rock solid.

we have warm weather and beaches. but besides, who really cares about warm weather and beaches when one of your country's biggest issues is obesity?

I dont mean anything against good american cities...Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit etc. But I just have a problem when franchises like Nashville, Carolina, Florida, and Phoenix cant sell 3000 tickets, when you could move those teams to any canadian city and they'll sell 18,000 a night. 52% of the NHL's players are Canadian born...and look how few teams we have up here. I think its kinda unfair.

I got excited when they almost moved the Phoenix Coyotes up here to Hamilton. The NHL was started in Canada but we only have 6 teams while the US has 24.
