Anybody paying attention to possible trades for Kovie? Apparently there's four or five teams in the air: Philly, Jersey, Chicago, Los Angeles and NYR. The Kings probably stand to gain the most with a trade for him but it would be foolish to part with more than they should, especially considering Kovie's firm commitment to getting the fuck out of Atlanta.

If there are stats to team getting fucked by shit calls, I bet Buffalo leads it...in any sport.

Kovalchuk to New Jersey with Salmela and a 2nd rounder for Bergfors, Oduya, prospect Patrice Cormier, and 2010 1st and 2nd rounders. The East just got even more compelling at the top.

Olympics done- back to your regularly scheduled NHL hockey...

Coyotes and Caps both active at the deadline.

Phoenix added a declining veteran D in Schnieder, a forward (Stempniak) for picks, and Wolski, a quality young player and a change of pace from Mueller. I guess making the playoffs this season is kind of important for them.

Caps have added Chimera, Walker, Belanger, and Corvo. Some role players and a hell of a shot from the point. Only gave up Chris Clark, Pothier, and some low picks to get it done (also Jurcina, who I'm unfamiliar with, but then traded to get him back)- so net improvement overall.

Sharks sat idle.

Lots of trades but still not a very exciting trade deadline if you ask me.
Though I'm definitely glad that Oilers' were able to unload Visnovsky's big contract.

Taylor Hall here we come!!

It is pretty wild that Chelios came back, wouldnt be surprised if Jagr jumped on board that boat too.

Chelios is a tank for still wanting to play in the NHL at 48. Kind of like Gordie Howe. Even though Chelios signed with Atlanta, he's staying with the AHL for the time being. Thrashers sign D Chris Chelios - USATODAY.com

I know he was somewhat of a dirty player but I’ve gained a lot of respect for Cheli over the years. He obviously just loves the game as he most certainly doesn’t need any more money. Probably the great American born hockey player ever IMO (Modano and Leetch would be a close second and third)..
