Naslund won't do much good for them. He's a skilled player without the spark he used to have.

How good do the wings look
Top 9 Forwards Zetterberg Datsyuk Hossa Holmstrom Fillppula Franzen Samuelsson Draper Hudler And the Best Defensive Core in the league Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Stuart Seems likely they will cruise into the playoffs as the number one seed again and the favorite for the cup. Pittsburgh should be better just because the kids get older. Chicago looks ready to emerge. Anaheim and San Jose could both bounce back. And I think the Flames are going to be in the conference finals against the Wings. I like New Jersey a lot but I think that the Habs are due for a run and based on nothing but their roster I'll take them as my Eastern pick for 08-09.

So how about this pre season..I know its only pre season..but seeing my nucks go 6-0 off almost purely young skilled players was pleasing. Pavel, and Bernier are gonna have a big impact on this team this year as well as the underachiever Wellwood who has finally just passed the fitness test to play. He has made some great plays in the pre season. Can't wait for Oct 9th. Gonna see my boys put out the Flames.

^Dear god how I wish I could refute your post, but I really can't (well, except for the last sentence that is). we've had a semi-decent showing in the preseason with only two losses, but since one of them was a 6-1 loss to your wanker-filled ****-show of a team I'm very much disappointed. But, the flames have never been a great pre-season team, so I'm fully expecting us to step it up and give you all a lovely dose of reality by sucking the air out of your overly-inflated egos.

Oh i'll be here. All I have to say right now is that in true flames style, they are starting off the season by sucking royally. in a couple of games, all will right itself, and we will go back to kicking your asses. just as it should be.

I decided to use this thread instead of making a new one. Sean Avery, shut the f*ck up and take a seat over there.
"Our commissioner hasn't realized that he needs to probably do a better job of marketing the game and certainly some of the players in it," Avery said in an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols. "Nobody cares about Jarome Iginla and guys like that. They're just not exciting enough. They don't bring enough to the game." Really Avery? and what exactly do you bring to the game that Iginla, and "guys like him" don't? Call me crazy, but I fail to see how a guy with 33 points last season can be calling out a guy with 98 points for "not bringing enough to the game." Now what exactly is it that you can provide for NHL fans? As far as I can see, Iginla brings something that you certainly dont. seat sales. how many times does a dallas starts game sell out? not that many. calgary games sell out very often. very, very often. Know why? because of stars like Iginla who are exciting to watch, lead the team well, and are well liked by the fans. Now before you go off spouting your ideals as to how the game should be marketed, maybe take a look around. seems like teams like the flames and guys like iginla aren't the problem with marketing. they seem to be doing just fine. your team evidently isnt. wonder why. /rant
