Man, Seguin is looking like an absolute beast this year. Too bad the rest of the team (minus the goalies) is still hungover.

And last year:

That shot is absolutely lethal, on 3 of the best goalies in the league too.

I am, in the extent that I supported them in their Stanley Cup run. I wouldn't hedge my bets on them to repeat, though I strongly suspect they'll at least make a semifinals appearance, whether Tim Thomas is still strong enough on his toes to carry them there is another story. I expect Boston is going to try and retain Rask for a few more seasons, and will probably see more and more starts as Thomas gets fatigued.

Man, what in the hell was Nashville thinking giving Rinne $7 million a year for 7 years? I don't think he's worth that personally (although he is very good), but that's besides the point when you consider what team it is. Their budget seems to be $50 million a year, yet they're willing to give a 7th of it to a goalie, when they still have their two most important players to sign in Weber and Suter? Nashville has probably been the smartest-spending team in the league for years, but I really think this one comes back to bite them in the ass.

Yeah, those terms are excessive on both counts, and even more excessive when you consider it's Nashville. Either they don't plan on retaining both Weber AND Suter, they somehow are going to expand their budget, or they are going to severely gouge the rest of the team even more...

Maybe the owner has given Poile the green light to spend next season? Not sure, as Nashville has always been pretty tight with their money. Suter would cash in huge on the open market. I'm sure he'll use that as leverage.

One of the most consistent players in the league. He looks like he's taking the next step up this year. Big body with a great shot who can set plays up and is solid defensively too. Great franchise player.

I think part of the Predator's gig is they're trying to introduce more speed to the lineup without ditching the defense-first philosophy; which sort of necessitates a first class goal tender.

Rinne is still young, and I believe has a lot of room to improve, but his skill set extends beyond the stats - his glove hand is so smart, so sharp that it limits scoring opportunities severely. Surely, out of the top goalies, can we agree he has the best glove hand?
