Yeah, I agree.

That way LA will get screwed on the dollar amount, screwed on the years, and in Doughty's first year of UFA status Logan Couture (his bff for life) will convince him to come play for the Sharks. Burns and Doughty? Yes please. Sounds win win win if you're asking me...

Tavares and Myers both sign long term now. I'd die to have a defencemen like Myers...or Doughty for that matter. The future.

I do think the Preds are more dangerous than the Ducks based on the Rinne factor alone...however it's a brand new season so anything can happen

Preds will finish 4th in the Central Division this year, with STL taking last place. How can Preds compete at the same level when they lose 40 goals from Dumont, Goc, Franson, Ward, and Lombardi? Geoffrion, Halischuk, and O'Reilly would have to take a huge step forward to even come close to replicating those numbers.

The Preds game has never been to score goals...on a team like that, someone will step up to pot in the necessary goals...but as always there will be a lot of 2-1, 3-2 games...when u have a goalie that is capable of stealing a game every night, u just rely on that

You better hope Peks can have another stellar season, because every D man after Weber and Suter on the depth chart is a liability in my opinion. He's going to get shelled every night if guys like Boullion/Sloan/Laakso can't handle 2nd pairing minutes.

haha i'm not actually a preds fan, i'm just saying Rinne is the real deal...i do agree they don't have a whole lot else besides him and Weber but it wouldn't be the first time a team has made it on the strength of a couple of players.

On a different topic...who do you take first overall in your pool this year? It's a lot harder to choose this year it seems....

To me Ovechkin is the no-brainer first overall pick every year for fantasy. He gives you elite stats in every category and there isn't even close to as much talent on the wings as there is at center. He'll be back to his usual game this year as I think Boudreau will go back to a more firewagon style of hockey with Vokoun giving them more stability in net.

Hmm good points about Ovechkin...yah i don't really see why he wouldn't go back to his 50+ goal ways, he's too young to be in the downslide of his career...if crosby was healthy i think he is the #1 pick every year, but that's just me...there's something to be said for the Sedins too, probably the most consistent players in the league...while Ovi puts up similar point numbers, he often goes into big dry spells, like most great goal scorers...okay another question...who would be the first goalie taken?

I'd go with either Lundqvist or Vokoun this year.

Lundqvist is probably the most consistent goalie in the league. He's basically a lock to give you 70 starts, 35 wins, and roughly a .920 save% with a 2.30 GAA, with the potential to improve on those numbers (still waiting to see him win his first Vezina). The Rangers have built one of the best defensive groups in the league, and with the Rangers as a whole look better too. I'd bet on 70 starts, 40 wins, .925 save % and a 2.20 GAA.

Vokoun has ridiculous potential this year. He's right there with Lundqvist for being the most consistent, yet he's always been stuck on underperforming teams. I worry a little bit about Neuvirth stealing time, but I still expect to see Vokoun get around 65 starts, and possibly even 40-45 wins on that team. People might worry about his other stats declining if Washington plays a more wide-open style, but the guy has been pounded with shots in the past 4 years and still put up some of the best stats in the league. I'm predicting 65 starts, low-mid 40s wins, .920 save %, 2.30 GAA.

Goalies like Thomas and Luongo have too much competition from back-ups to be considered this high. Other goalies that I'd look at after Lundqvist and Vokoun that are locks for alot of starts and good-great production would be Price, Miller, Rinne, Ward and Bryzgalov.
