I didn't see your post until I finished responding to Burning Down.

You're right though that is a little backwards. Though when they had the Final Four a few months ago, when VCU lost they had riots in Richmond (just down the road from me). If I was a Canuck fan, the only thing I should be looting is the Stanley Cup.

I didn't care about Bruins or Canucks but I just didn't want a Canadian team to win

Both teams were Canadian... even if one team was in an American city. I see Boston as being the more Canadian team since more of their best players are Canadian. Not that I really care, Tim Thomas is a great goalie even despite being born in Flint.

Damn you Beantown. Lost 50 on the Nucks. That was gonna be my beer money at the TSOL concert tonight. Thomas was unbeatable the entire playoffs. Boston just dictated the whole game to them. outhustled, out physicaled, out played in every aspect. Good series.

Disappointed to hear that Vancouver's full of sore losers. I'd hoped for better.

Ummm yeah. Most of the players on the Bruins are Canadian. In fact, the majority of NHL players are Canadian.

45 percent are Canadian, Europe tallys 40 percent and Americans make up the other 15 percent.

No. It is both... This is not the first time this has happened...

1994 Stanley Cup riot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is old news, and it was a guarentee either way, win or lose, it was going to happen again. If somebody did not see it coming, they just are not familiar with Vancouver, especially the DTES and Downtown core.

I have been reading so many people making the "this is not the fans, this is people just looking to wreak some havok" view... to which I have called a cop out every time. It is fandom at its most extreme. It may not be as much as the people they are talking about, but it was fans as well..

But regardless of motive, it is such a stupid thing to do. Normally I would not side with the police and riot teams on these things, but in this case I say, take em out boys! This is not rebellion, where the just f*ck up whoever "steps out of line", this is a bunch of bone headed jocks and morons with no respect for anything, so they deserve a baton to the skull and tear gas in the eyes. F*ck em.
