Yeaa, I think its brutal. I could see the one game because of the effect of the hit on Horton. Not that I think that should have anything to do with it, but it obviously does in the NHL in these times. But Rome isnt a dirty players, the hit was obviously late, but whats the first thing your coach blasts into your head in like atom and bantom. Dont watch your pass...he got caught in a susceptible position because he was admiring his pass. Its been made clear that Horton wont return for the remainder of the series, and I do wish him a clean recovery so he doesnt end up a Patrice Bergeron.

Yeah, perhaps one game may of been enough... but at the same time I think to myself, if he has to sit out the rest of the series because of his injury, the guy who injured him should have to sit out the rest of the game... not like he would really care, he gets paid either way. Eye for an Eye type deal.

yea but thats the thing the NHL is doing now thats really bothering me...they're stating the severity and discipine of the penalty by whether or not the player can get up and skate to the bench. Scott Stevens would have played half as many games in his career if they fucked up all the disciplinary actions like they do now.

Bergy's actually better than he's ever been. While he isn't putting up 70+ points anymore, he isn't being asked to. He's saddled in a more defensive role right now because of how complete his game is. As for Horton, he doesn't have a history of concussions (I don't think) like Bergeron or Savard.
We lost one of our best (and certainly the most clutch) players for the series and you lost a useless player (you guys played with something ridiculous like 15 defensemen this year). Deal with it. Pretty sickening that the Canucks are saying "Win it for Rome". |

So I'm trying to watch the game but the announcers are ****ing blabbing about some **** that happened like 2 months ago. Also talking about other stuff. I'd just like them to shut up and call the game! I'm watching the game on CBC if anyone cares. All the American channels that I get aren't even showing the game, for whatever reason. So I'm stuck watching ****ing CBC.

^Like Shawn Thornton said, it doesn't matter if you're an ******* off the ice or a saint, those hits are inexcusable.
This series is getting intense. I'm getting really nervous because I know how hard it is to get back here. I'm hoping they don't put Schneider in. The Bruins usually have trouble with back-ups for some reason, and Schneider is one of the best. |

Tim Thomas is pretty fantastic, I have not paid attention to hockey in recent years, aside from the occasional game here and there in the play offs (i usually never watch regular season anymore, only playoffs).. but I am noticing how good he is. He has made some amazing saves in the last few games, as well as a cool hit, haha.
Just starting this yer to get into it and focus more on the game, and I think Thomas is one of the best goalies I have seen in years... well, also know I did not watch hockey for about 10 years before I got back to in in about 2007..my knowledge of newer players is pretty slim at this moment. But I think no matter who we put in, Thomas will still serve his team well.

Thomas has been underrated for years. He set the save percentage record this year (most important stat fo goalies IMO), but he also has the second best career save % of all-time, only behind Hasek. People like to think he's a one-year wonder (or rather two-year wonder with his two Vezina years) but really, he's been lights out since he came into the league.
