BTW, did anyone else find it funny that The Pistons retired his jersey on April Fool's day? |

Man I know its only one game and it was on their own home court but the Bulls Manhandled the heat. I hope its a sign of things to come in the rest of the series. Honestly I didnt think they would match up well with the heat. A couple of early lbj steals and I was starting to think yeah they are going to make this look easy. However once they got goin the overall scheme they had drawn up looks to pay dividends in the end if they keep it up. Maybe tweek a couple things like not falling for wades and james pump fakes and stay down. I noticed a few times they fell for that trick and the heat got the foul call but overall good solid d from them. A couple other guys stepped up on offense and Rose got his usual. Which could mean they could possibly make this a interesting series.

Well i wouldn't say manhandled, it was tied half way through the third but the Bulls stepped up down the stretch and Miami didn't. I hate when the Heat go into isolation mode and LeBron gets the ball and holds it for literally 5 seconds. I wanna see him get the ball and do something quick, good things happen when he does. He stands there with it and gives the defense time to adjust, it always pisses me off when watching it. Heat will be hungry game 2, and the silver lining is Bosh dominated the Bulls big men. This loss was all on LBJ and Wade, they played horrible down the stretch.

they both played pretty badly for the majority of the game. it may just be a case of the bulls D keying on them and letting everyone else get off. if that's the case(and I hope it is), this series could be over quick.
1 - both LeBron and Wade really need to improve their play off the ball, they should be getting way more slashing dunks(assisted from one of the big 3) in half court sets. who can keep a body on them around a screen? 2 - I'm kinda worried LeBron is happy with his game as it is. it seems like he has been basically the exact same player the last few years. his game is excellent and he is possibly the best player, but he could be so much better. if he took some time to perfect his footwork and improve his post game, he would be unstoppable. I doubt the Heat can win a title without improving on at least one of these areas as currently constituted. however, they have a mid level exception for next season, so they will probably underpay some stud big to create a dynasty. another note, they kinda hamstrung themselves financially last summer. I understand giving LBJ/Wade max deals, but they probably should have held off on Bosh and collected a bunch of people willing to sacrifice pay to play for a championship. in addition, they over-payed Miller and possibly Haslem(he is fairly old). it's like they wanted a championship this year at all costs. we'll see if the strategy bites them later.

Yeah, I know Miller was hurt a lot of the year but he doesn't even play. Honestly their most valuable guy other than the Big 3 is Joel Anthony. That dude works his ass off to get boards, play defense, and keep balls alive. Well, James Jones is pretty good too. He's silky from 3.
I don't see LBJ working on his game anytime soon. Maybe he'll follow in the steps of MJ and Kobe and really finetune a fadeaway or post game after his athleticism declines with age. I think the Heat would be fine if they didn't start going isolation in the 4th quarter. LBJ just stands out there and gives everyone time to set up and wastes the whole shot clock. I feel like he's always trying to create this epic moment and it always backfires. Holy hell, you'r 6 foot 8 and over 250 pounds, get the ball and go to the rim. I think there's only a handful of point guards that are better passers then Bron too. We'll see what the new CBA is like, but yeah the Heat are creating a dynasty. They'll do exactly what you said and underpay someone who is chasing a ring to come in and help them down low. What do you think about Spolstra? I'm starting to not like him much, why the hell weren't wade and lebron covering Rose all game? |

Yeah the Heat seem to be at their best in transition rather than slowing things down and going isolation. I mean right at the beginning they were attacking more and it looked to be an affective approach. If I was a Heat fan id be upset with the scheme Spolstra is trying to take. Im not so sure about keeping the guys of size on the bench either. The Bulls were fairly efficient getting offensive boards throughout the game. Certainly disappointing for heat fans if coaching is the cause for a blown series.
As for the Bulls im sure they are hoping for another performance from Gibson like the one he had in game one. He definatley turned out to be their.....( overly used term) "x-factor" Along with the play of the Chicago bench which proved to some that the Bulls shouldnt be taken lightly imo. I always thought that if the big 3 for Miami couldnt get enough done to win the game. Then their bench help would surely do enough to lose it for them. At any rate im anxious to see game 2 and im certain miami will come out a lot more aggresive. Regaurdless of who wins the series its exciting to watch prob the 3 best players off the dribble in the world do their thing on the court. (Rose,Wade,James) |

I've watched enough NBA to know how the script goes... Two pretty evenly matched great teams... Game 1 to team X, so game 2 goes to game Y. The more desperate team always comes out extra hard. Gibson had two crazy great dunks last night. Tonight blows, no games on tv. Only sports on is the Phillies and I hate them |

How bout Dirk tonight? ****in 24 out of 24 from the freethrow line(which is an NBA record) and 48 points? Man this must be Dirks year i guess to shine and try an carry his team to the finals. Mavs are hot and had like 9 days off to rest so they should be plenty rested for the series. Man what a performance though from Dirk. Guy takes 15 shots and ends up with 48 points.

That was seriously the greatest playoff performance I've ever seen. Guys were playing great defense but he was just hitting unbelievable shot after unbelievable shot and drawing fouls. It was amazing to watch tonight. I'm pretty much speechless.
