absolutely fantastic game by lebron tonight, one of his all time greatests. id throw it in his top 10 all time performance list. he had his handprint on the entire game and had that look on his face like he did Game 6 vs boston a couple yrs back. just a completely dominant performance and his teammates missed a ton of open shots created by him
he was sensational |

Absolutely unstoppable after that moment. He was really pissed off by those fouls though, hope he calms down by the next game. EDIT: also, lol 97% chance the Spurs shut-out Trailblazers tonight according to the TNT viewer poll. Yikes, that's pretty abysmal. Of course, no team has ever come back to win the series, but a single game, wow. |
i love passionate rivalries and you can tell him, pierce and garnett have bad blood still. pierce said he wanted to guard lebron, and bron went for 49!! he was in attack mode all game but you are right, those fouls changed things. i think it was after one of them or maybe ust a minute earlier when he was pissed and immediately aggressively backed down joe johnson and bullied him under the rim for a layup. he just makes it look so easy even with the entire opposing defense focusing completely on him
btw i think portland is gettin swept tonight. great team, great season but the spurs are ust such a well oiled machine |
something interesting i found of note in the spurs-blazers series. at the beginning of the season, i believe in this thread i may have even linked to a great article about the blazers philosophy, but the jist is that the blazers want to never double in the post and always run shooters off the 3 point line, allowing for easy mid range jumpers since they are the least efficient shot in the nba
the problem being that the spurs love those shots and have lived with tony parker mid range jumpers off of pick and rolls and timmy duncan pick-n-pop elbow jumpers for 15 yrs. there prob isnt a worse matchup for portland than the spurs |
omg!! what a crazy thunder game!! clips totally got hosed, no way around it. though they need to check the replay system and tinker with it cause this happens way too much where a guy gets fouled and its not called... just unbelievable though they gave the ball to the thunder!! clearly they knew they missed the foul and were making up for it but you cant do that!
pacers looks like **** as is their usual. no energy, no heart, lack of hustle, etc |
Sucks that thunder got robbed on that call. But I'm guessing Chris Paul gets way more calls in his favor overall. NBA refs are the worst.

I completely agree with this |
I concur.
When it's 3-2, I feel pretty sure that it will go 7. The NBA wants more ads and teams want more ticket sales. Quote:

I absolutely unequivocally disagree that officials are missing calls because of any bias one way or another. They're missing calls because they're not very good at their job. /this conversation |

Chris Paul, one of the most veteran and skilled basketball players in the world, made an absolutely inexcusable rookie mistake fouling Westbrook on that jump shot. No denying it was a foul there. He absolutely did not have to be that close, and it was god damn Russell Westbrook taking a three, who is wildly inconsistent with that shot. EDIT: sorry Paul, didn't see your other post. Also, we got the heat in the ECF, now we just need the pacers lol. I wouldn't be surprised if Indiana uses the prospect of facing Miami AGAIN to spur them to a win. |
That blown out of bounds call tho gave okc a chance
I hate Chris paul tho recognize his skills. Amazingly bad end of the game for him and he absolutely fouled westbrook. Boneheaded play there and also on the turnover before the blown call Welp miami n spurs did their part. No surprise. Now okc and indy need to do theirs |

Lemme pop some corn first. It'll either be Miami or San Antonio, and the seemingly endless stream of NBA dominance of the same six teams will be guaranteed to continue. |

Miami is not winning again this year. They are not that good. If the Spurs play them again, they are going to beat them. They should have won over the summer and Miami knows it. I am rooting for the Spurs and the Thunder. Hell, I am rooting for Indiana! The Heat are not that good. |

LeBron mailed that one in, but the Pacers surprised me.
|
Didnt see the game cause of obligations..... smh. Shocked to say the least about tge outcome.
Gonna say heat in six and spurs in 5. No ibaka is soooooo crucial |
Anyone who counts out Miami is flat out wrong. Depending on health and if the stars decide to show up either Spurs or Miami could take it. I think without question those two will be playing each other in the finals. Duncan/Parker Lebron/Wade can have good or bad series, aking either team very capable of winning.
Personally I think Lebron will turn it on and carry them, but that the series will take us to 6 or 7 games. |
Durant at the 5? Oh man, this is going to be interesting!
|
Miami are not that good. They barely beat the nets. They "barely" beat teams or they beat them by luck. Aye butthead, is Miami gonna have luck on their side again this time round?

LOL
To be fair I actually did not watch the net series but I was told by a few that they barely beat them and from viewing past series that is a Miami track record. It doesn't matter if it was 4-1 if the games were close that means the nets gave them a hard time. This year will be interesting though. I hope my babies go back to the Finals and win there deserving ring that was stolen from them over the summer. I can't stand the NBA |
miami will come out strong vs the pacers in game 2, bank on that. the pacers are really not a great team but they ARE constructed specifically to beat the heat. they literally are the perfectly built team to give miami problems on offense and defense. but i just really dont see miami rolling over whatsoever. this series will go at least 6 and i wil stick with heat in 6 games
spurs series is over, im tellin ya. unless ibaka comes back. did anyone see the game tonite?? spurs can get easy shots better than any team already, and then without ibaka theres nobody at the rim to protect easy buckets. another unfortunate yr for the thunder, last yr was the westbrook injury but its over. i hate to count out a team so early but this inury is sooo devastating to them |
Indiana can definitely beat the Heat.

Miami/Spurs it is. Might as well not even play.

huge game for miami tonight. they need this win and i hope lebron will come out in that game 6 vs celtics type of mood where he is just absolutely unstoppable. when lebron embraces the role of villain hes just lethal to the max degree.
nba lottery going on now. sooo crucial |
Celtics...lulz.
|
The cavs get the first pick again!!!! Wtf!!!!!
|
Quote:
Also, love that Joel AND Wiggins are there. |
cavs are a completely incompetent franchise and were lucky enough to have lebron for ahwile so he could mask the incompetence of the front office. if you already have 2 #1 overall picks theres nooo way you should still be this bad
who knows is anthony bennett will ever pan out. im willing to give him a pass on a horrendous rookie season because of MIKE BROWN who is a terrible coach. so terrible that he got booted after 1 yr of a 5 yr deal. how does this man continue to get jobs??? with kyrie, waiters, bennett, and now wiggins/embiid/jabari this team SHOULD be a force in a really bad eastern conference in the next decade. we will see how it works out but damn they have potential |
You know, I was going to be kind and say that LeBron had an unbelievable fourth quarter, which he did, but the Pacers gave that one away at the end there. The last 40 seconds were wasted.
Also, yeah LeBron had a good fourth quarter, but Wade was great that entire game. Paul George disappeared again. |
lebron picked up some steam in the 4th, but wade was great most of the game, especialyl the beginning in end
there was a point late in the 3rd where indy had made it a 7 point game and lebron had 2 consecutie possessions where he drove and kicked to wide open guys. bosh and cole, brought it back to a 1 point game quickly. that was a big moment i think miamis defense th stepped up at the end. the strip by lebron, then wade getting a hand of george's pass. wade has moments like this last yr where down the stretch he just wanted it so badly and was out working everyone on the court george a no-show as he likes to do. stevenson single handedly kept them in this game. |
