Good news. FINALLY, Los Angeles Lakers are actually on the Playoff race. I am so happy for them. They are a good team. Go Lakers. You got Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant. Go Lakers.

The heat on the other hand just became the 4th team ever to get 20 wins in a row. |

too bad about kobe. I guess tonight we'll find out if the lakers really feel like going to the playoffs, the refs can get you 3/4 of the way there but you still gotta play a little good basketball eh.
|
They have exactly no chance without Nash unless Howard morphs into Shaq overnight.
|
who needs nash when you got blake right? am i right?
seriously tho good game, playoffs might be a little more interesting if lakers get to play spurs |

Just wanted to say what's up to all my Lakers fans!
*crickets* Helloo? |
Sup. Why didn't Nash convince the head PHX trainer to come with him when he left?
|
Dude, I dunno...maybe he felt anger when he left? Who wouldn't want to go to LA, from hellish PHX.

I really thought the knicks would win

Clippers play soft thats why they haven't been getting any second chance hoops. They need griffen healthy it seems, i'm surprised at how inept everyone was at covering randolph with no less credit to him, he's great player.
|
I'm thinking the Nets are next to be out. Bulls need to close that...
|
you gotta love this bulls team, it's a shame they don't have deng and heinrech or else this series might, somehow, potentially be up for grabs, but give chicago credit for delaying the inevitable this long.
|
lol your comments after this game
|
chicago is still going to take it to 6 which is saying something considering their roster(specifically lack of a true point guard)

Hopefully these dudes can maintain, and NOT get ejected. |
Looks like Indiana and Miami in the East should be a decent Eastern Final. Really hoping Memphis can pull the upset against San Antonio. Still thinking Miami takes it all again. What happen to this thread?
|
I really don't follow the NBA at all but I'm extremely satisfied that the Thunder are out.
If Memphis does manage to get past the Spurs, they will be quickly dispatched by Miami, which will fortify my distaste for the NBA. Since 1980, there have been 20 different World Series champions, 16 Stanley Cup champions, 16 Super Bowl winners, and only 9 NBA champs, and two of those, Philadelphia and Dallas, only have one, and Houston's two during Michael Jordan's stint in minor league baseball, leaving the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Bulls, Spurs and Heat. I hate that about the NBA. Of course if, as I expect, San Antonio and Miami meet in the finals, this trend is guaranteed. |

I kind of agree with Paul Smeenus about this. I like the sport but it's tough to watch sometimes because there is next to no parity in the league. I mean, why would I watch a series between let's say the Nuggets and Warriors when I know that neither of them have a chance at winning it all? It's basically just delaying the inevitable. And that's in the West, where you don't even have to worry about how dominant the Heat are until the Finals. And I actually really like LeBron and the Heat. It just takes a lot out of it when you can call what happens before the playoffs start (or sometimes even before the season starts).

See, back in the 90s my dad guided a bunch of out of state folks for various game, mostly pheasants. One of them was a former General Manager for the Spurs, who - when I was sitting in the truck with him and my dad - handed me a hat David Robinson had received during the '96 All Star game at San Antonio, which was autographed by Robinson. I guess players only get ten of this hats or something per All Star game. So, yeah, go Spurs. Dominate the league forever. I want that hat to increase in value, goddamnit. |
i like how sportscasters keep trying to profess james as "one of the all time great finishers" only to later on watch him turn the ball over twice in the last minute or so.
He's still the best player bar none, its just clear that the whole center stage thing is not his game. The buzzer beater layup is hard to give him too much credit for. I think a finals with the grizzlies/heat would be neato. I think the big vs small battle would be extra potent with those two squads but spurs/heat will suffice too. Apparently nobody is watching the grizzlies/spurs games, viewership down 40% from last years conference finals. |
Yeah, that was pretty brutal by James to close it out there. He missed a 3 just before those turnovers as well. I disagree with you saying the center stage thing isn't his game though. He does have a great track record for closing out games.

We got our NBA finals match
